First off, it's probably good to know that this item is shipped in two packages (and they come at different times). The mantle came about 2 days before the fireplace - not a huge deal, but would have been nice to have those expectations set. When we received the mantle my husband took everything out of the box, and the two back panels were completely broken on the corners. Thankfully he was able to position them to where we can't see the broken pieces but nonetheless it's not too thrilling to pay half a grand and receive broken anything. There were also chips and scratches along the front of the mantle (these ARE visible at first glance). I find it interesting that the sellers would send these pieces out like this because the way they are packaged - it's VERY clear the damage was done PRIOR to packaging. I really feel that for the amount of money spent on this it should have been cared for much better. Lastly!!!! Be EXTREMELY careful when putting on the front panel/edge around the fireplace. It's a flimsy piece of metal that takes a lot of effort to connect. It comes with four prongs that are meant to click the panel onto but these too are flimsy, so if you aren't careful you could snap one of them and then run the risk of A. Having to exchange it for another mantle or B. Having to figure out a different way to secure it (which is totally not fun when it's a NEW piece of furniture. This item has the potential to be great for sure, but with the condition it was in when we received it and the quality of attachments I've rated it a 2-star.

We love the fire! It looks so real! It was not too hard to put together. We turn the fire on in the evening and the heater on in the mornings. It puts out a lot of heat!

The product has it's downsides. When I received the order it was well packaged. Took about 2 hours to assemble. It might take someone else longer if they aren't that savvy. After it's put together, it feels like a solid piece of furniture. I purchased this to heat one room which is about 200 sq ft. I live in Los Angeles so everyone can understand my review. The heating unit itself claims it heats up to 400 sq ft. I ran the unit at 82 degrees for 4 hours before the room went from 54 degrees to 63 degrees. It doesn't have what the current room temperature is, just the temperature setting for the unit. Also, the control on the unit itself has a magnetic cover and is located at the bottom. If you turn it on without opening that cover and don't remember the settings you put it last you would have to bend over and open the cover to see what the current setting is. Lastly, which I haven't been able to successfully do yet, is there is an automatic shut off once the room gets to the degrees set. My suggest would be to purchase the mantle separately and find a good modern electric heater. PROS: 1. Looks great 2. Can assemble it with just 1 screwdriver. Cons: 1. Needs better instructions 2. The electric heater is total garbage. 3. Remote has to be aimed directly at it. 4. Can't move vents around 5. A probable space heater has more functions.

This thing took me 3 hours to put together, the usually twist lock screws, terrible directions had you putting pieces over screw hole before putting a screw in or attaching one piece that got in the way of the screwdriver to another piece. We got the black finish and very single piece was scratched before we even put it together. I’d return it if it didn’t way 120lbs and spent such amount of time pulling it together. For the price I was hoping for better quaility
