This time I took a chance and ordered a Tangkula 50 Inch Electric Fireplace and we are very happy with its over all look and performance. It was easy to install , works well and very low noise coming from the fan . It does heat a 400 plus square room. In my opinion it's very comparable to the Dimplex Prism BLF5051. We ordered this and have NO REGERTS. The company shipped it quickly, packed well.everthing intact. The size and construction are better than we could hope for ; for the price. We love the flame as well. 9 different colors, but we are more traditional, so mainly we'll use the one shown. So very glad we took a chance, this is 100% what we wanted. I even like the thin boarder over the wide ones . Amazing for the cost . Really can’t beleave that I got this for the features and looks and turns out to be a low price as well . I was hesitant to buy this unit because there were only two reviews. I’m glad I took the chance. It works great. I wanted an electric fireplace that looked as real as possible. This one did not disappoint. The flames and wood pieces are more natural and this is why I chose this unit. I can’t base my review on the heating element of the unit because we live in Florida and I’ve only tuned it in once. We really like the look of this fireplace. And initially we were very happy with it. But after the second day, the high heat function stopped working. When you turn the heat on low, you can hear the fan kick on. At first, when you would turn on the high heat, you could hear the fan increase in speed. That no longer happens. Another thing I dislike is that after turning it off and then back on, it does not remember all of the settings. It will stay in the same color, but not the same intensity. We like the light at a low setting, but after turning it off and back on, it reverts back to the brightest setting. ... show more
