We highly suggest that you use a quality exfoliant like Tan Physics Pre-Tan Exfoliant and a wash cloth. Gently exfoliate in a circular motion paying close attention to knees, elbows, heels, tops of hands and tops of feet and anywhere else that dry skin is common. Make sure you thoroughly rinse off all shampoo, conditioner, soap, gels etc. before getting out of the shower or bath. The product is the best salt tanner I have ever seen. It has a slight smell when applying but it's gone within 10 minutes at the most. You can apply till you get the color you prefer but the only thing is it doesn't last long, my experience has been that it's pretty much gone by the 3rd day, but so is my SUN tan, it could just be me. I'm sure a lot of people are like me, and read reviews with a bit of skepticism, so I know there will be those out there who aren't sure this is legit. All I can say is, it IS! I recently had to have Mohs surgery to remove a squamous cell cancer and decided that tanning beds were no longer my friend. BUT, I have been a tanaholic my whole life and have a really hard time looking at pale me in the mirror. I decided to give Tan Physics a chance, even though I felt it was expensive. WOW, I am not exaggerating to say I was pleasantly surprised. I don't understand the science involved, but this stuff makes me turn the same color as being out in the sun. It's gradual, but not so gradual that the first application isn't visible. Washing my face that evening only removed a very small amount of color. It got me through the "ugly pale" phase until I could finally get out in the sun to get some natural tan. (Hey, I haven't given up ENTIRELY). Tan Physics will be my go-to tanner from now on, during those times when I need to feel tan, but the sun isn't around to cooperate!! ... show more

The color and speed in which it dries on my legs, is perfect! It is a bit thick, but spreads quickly & easily. All color comes off of my hands if I wash them quickly with soap & water. I have used this for over 3 years and it is great!! Looks very natural!

I bought this after doing a crapload of research on the best self tanners that don't smell super gross. I normally only use St.Tropez because it's actually amazing espically for my like basically clear skin tone and I definitely don't hate it enough to tan for real and St.Tropez will give you a for real actual brown no orange, or anything unwanted color wise it's kinda prefect all year around but the smell smells well, like self tanner lol. So anyways this tanning stuff isn't horrible, and I will have to say doesn't really have a bad smell. But it doesn't go on as well as the aforementioned and after like a day or two it starts to turn blotchy which then makes it look super not brown but more of an orangey like hue to it which is less than sun kissed to say the least. I exfoliate and use the mits in circular motion all the steps so I know it's not human aka user error. So I hope this helps someone else from spending more and or being inconvenienced because of you're like me I'm a Beauty product lunatic and I get excited for the Amazon truck to show up and I know the sadness it can bring for the one little product that was going to lift you up and work and look the way it did in your mind. I do love this product.. gives a natural looking tan, as long as you don’t overdo the applications all the time ..I find 2-3 times a week is sufficient, and that’s with bathing daily. You definitely have to work in one area at a time to avoid streaking and make sure you rub it in evenly. you also need to adapt to the smell. Great product though ! ... show more

Used it for years. Has always worked well. I’ve discovered over the years it can be used sparingly and a little covers a large area. Softens the skin too. It’s a bit pricey, but to me it’s worth it. Oh, don’t use it if you’re going into a hot tub. The hot water will remove some of it and the material coats the water line. Cleans up easy, but why if you don’t have to. ... show more
