Description

The TC-X14 Teleconverter is designed exclusively for the Tamron SP 150-600mm Di VC USD G2 (Model A022) ultra-telephoto zoom lens. This teleconverter increases the maximum focal length by 1.4x, whilst retaining a close MOD (minimum object distance), so the magnification ratio during close focusing is also enhanced. It features Tamron’s sophisticated BBAR (Broad Band Anti Reflection) coating to eliminate ghosting and flare. Both autofocus and VC features are retained with compatible lenses. The Moisture-Proof and Dust- Resistant construction, with a sturdy, durable barrel design is perfect for use with the larger lenses The bayonet Mount made of brass on the camera side and stainless steel on the lens side ensure excellent durability, even with repeated Mountings and detachments.     • Know what you are getting and what you are not
Style: for Nikon
Like most people who buy a Teleconverter come to realize, it has pros and cons. Pros: sure enough, it's 1.4x magnification, Nikon autofocus works with it as does image stabilization. Cons: For some reason it messes with the D850 autofocus points by turning off the grid array focus points in the camera thus leaving only center focus. I had no idea that a teleconverter could even do this but it does. Very annoying. It's probably a pretty good lens optically, but it takes an outstanding chunk of glass to not distort the image by as much as it magnifies thus negating it's value. I strongly suggest that you evaluate it before the allowed Amazon return date and make your own decision. Like I said above, this is a nice lens and does it's job but not without some issues. ... show more
