The lens is the first lens in the world for APS-C mirrorless camera with a zoom ratio of 16.6x. Zooming from wide-angle to ultra-telephoto, it covers a broad array of shooting situations, including macro shots. The design makes the objective compact and easy to take with you. In addition, the AF is very fast and accurate due to the precise and high speed VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) linear motor focus mechanism. Also, Tamron’s VC system provides steady shots.Maximum magnification ratio is 1:2, absolutely amazing for an all-in-one zoom lens. At the 18 mm wide end, the lens attains an MOD (Minimum Object Distance) of 0.15m (5.9in) and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:2.
