This lens is in the kit for wildlife, sports, and compression portraits (there is nothing like a full body bridal portrait at 500mm). I can wholeheartedly recommend it's capabilities, especially after the new firmware update, which improved it's already excellent autofocus performance. The weather sealing is legit and we love its compact size for packing about. That being said, if you are a US or Canadian resident, do not purchase from this post. Grey market lenses do NOT get warranty repair in either Canada or the US, no matter what service plan these people try to sell you. Buy from a US authorized or Canada authorized reseller. You may think you're saving money, now... But that 6 manufacturer's US warranty is worth the extra. One problem with this and you're either sending it overseas for repair (good luck with that) or you're conceding the error of your ways and purchasing a new one, outright. Oh: and don't be angry at Tamron. This is common practice throughout the photo industry. The lens is awesome but... Caveat Emptor. ... show more
