I haven't used it extensively yet on my Nikon Z7ii but from what I've seen so far, the images are razor sharp, the autofocus is spot on and nearly silent. Bought this lens to photograph the eclipse and was not disappointed. Image attached is a little soft on the edges because we had a partially cloudy day obstructing the eclipse. That said, the lens performed exceptional well through a series of exposures. Images without the clouds of just the sun were perfectly sharp. This lens was beyond what I expected. Super sharp. Easy to use. I give it four stars. The reason no fifth star is how heavy it is. The photos with this review were hand held the same day I received the lens. Used on my Nikon Z 7. The zoom range is just what I need for rodeos, sports and even street level/walk around photography. This lens is pretty awesome!! It is not as expensive as nikon’s nor others but it really does get the job done well. The pictures I have been taking with it are crisp and clear unless it is an extreme low light setting. I will advise that this lens does NOT perform well at all in low light situations UNLESS you have other types of illumination methods. I would also like to note that this is a HEAVY lens. When attached with my nikon z5 and hot shoe flash, it weighs a total of 12.5 lbs (yes, I weighed it all). If you intend on using this on the fly, be prepared for some arm and wrist fatigue. Great lens, beyond happy and exceeded my expectations. Item was packaged beautifully in the original tamron box and the photos are incredible. It’s a heavy lens, so definitely recommend getting a quality tripod or monopod. It has a great stabilizer to assist and it truly has amazing photos, and everything you could want in a lens to choose between manual and autofocus for beginners.     • Super disappointed- not sharp- ignore influencers
I cannot get sharp images with this lens and if I do, if i zoom in on the image at all, its not sharp. Never sharp. Not in 150 all the way to 500. I hope for the sake of the other owners, I just got a dud. Unfortunately I didn't do enough testing before the return window was up so hopefully this falls under warranty. Also, its not user error.
