Beware this is NOT the same programming. For some reason if you feed the baby or toddler any cake they will die on day 3 or before. It’s a glitch and Bandai does not seem to care to fix it. It’s the same with all the new release ones. So if you are frustrated that it’s dying a lot that might be why. As far as quality goes it’s very pretty and had no scratches out of box. The pixels are better this time around. They still are not as bold as they could be… take the digimon for example now that’s a good digital screen.     • Not for young kids!
It takes a little practice to get to know how to take care of these. I would not recommend for someone who can't yet read. But the concept is cute and teaches kids responsibility. I bought this for my granddaughter and grandson when they stayed with me for a few days. The older one liked it more because he understood how to use it, the younger one had a little hard time with it. But when they took them home, their mom took them away from them because she didn't like to hear the beeping. ... show more

I love it! It’s literally the exact one I had back in 97/98. I’m 33, the nostalgia hit hard when I saw them, and I took the plunge. They have super cute colors now, that I don’t remember back then so of course I needed the relive the translucent/glitter realness of the times! I haven’t had any issues with it so far! I heard some other people were having glitches happen but I took a chance because I loved the way this shell looked, and I haven’t experienced anything going wrong yet. The sound is shrill and the screen is dim but it’s 90s technology so that’s to be expected. It comes with a battery already inside, so I’m not sure about the battery life yet but I’d imagine it lasts a while. All the same features of the original, so if that’s what you’re looking for I recommend buying it! ... show more

This little 90s-00s toy is awesome. It works and is just how I remembered it when I saw my classmates play around with them growing up. I bought one for my 7 year old daughter and taught her everything she needed to know about raising a pet....
