i have two original gen 3 connections from when i was in elementary school (2004?), along with two m!x’s (2016?), all four of which still work… but when i saw this specific one (the translucent blue with gold stars!) i HAD to have it! it works great, besides buttons occasionally not working (needing to be pressed twice for it to register). it’s a simple tama, only one game (guessing if a number will be higher or lower than the one shown, from 1 to 9, a being lower and b being higher) but it’s really cute and i’m happy. i probably won’t be keeping it active for a long time, and i always take out the batteries if im not going to be playing so it doesn’t get icky, so i expect it should last. i think the only thing im worried about is if the painted design will last, and if the buttons continue to work. i REALLY hope when they release the new connections, that there will be some similar to this in shell design! because i love my connections still and i would be SO happy to have more (and i wonder if they’ll be comparable with the old ones?? that would be awesome) i love my m!x’s but they’re only in japanese and the design isn’t quite as good (they’re just bigger mostly, and require either AA or AAA batteries rather than button batteries..) so i’m really happy to have a new one for the excitement (also $20 is significantly better than the $60 i paid for EACH of my m!x’s…) and i hope to get new connections too.. i think the only thing they could do to make a shell cooler than this one would be to have it glow in the dark! genuinely so happy to have this! i might have to buy another so i can have a display one and one that i don’t have to worry about feeling bad if i damage it…. It's an amazing little toy. It's fun to play and easy to use and once you get into it, you can't stop. The cute little Tamas are so easy to fall in love with. The shell color is absolutely beautiful. Comes exactly as listed, same fun as any other tamagotchi. However, the tamagotchi is extremely sensitive and will die if even slightly overweight. Nevertheless, I have had fun with it.

I love this for the nostalgia of it. I bought two of them, one for each of my daughters. The game is not good. Its a guessing game where you guess which side the tamagotchi is going to look. Very pointless, no skill or strategy to win. Its simply guessing and isn't very fun. Taking care of it is easy enough without playing the game by giving meals for hunger and snacks for happiness. You also clean it poop and give it medicine when it gets sick. Mine seem to die about once a week assuming from old age since they are taken care of. I wonder if the game function were used if that would make it lifespan longer. I also can never get the discipline level all the way up. It doesn't call out unnecessarily enough to discipline it much. I think its a little overpriced for what you get out of it. I would have preferred a $10 or maybe $15 price point. While I do like the nostalgia of this one, I prefer my hello kitty tamagotchi to these. The Hello Kitty one is smaller in size, but it has better graphic, while still retaining the nostalgic pixelated screen, the sounds are better, the games are better, and it doesn't just die when you take care of it well for so long, the tamagotchi goes on vacation with Hello Kitty when its life span is reached. ... show more
