Bought for my 5yo, mostly for my own nostalgia. She likes it okay but doesn't pay enough attention to it for it to live longer than a day or two at a time, but that's too be expected with her age. I'm glad these rereleases came out! I never had an original tamagotchi when I was little, so I'm glad they rereleased it for the 20th Anniversary. I thought this was a little expensive just because of the color, but it works great and I'm glad to have it!

My daughter received this for Easter and took care of it diligently. On day three, with full happiness, discipline, and food meters, the creature got sick and started beeping. None of the buttons would respond to touch in order to give the creature medicine, so it died (angel wings and stars). We had to hold down buttons A and C to reset it. Highly disappointing, but we're hoping the next creature lives longer and we aren't forced into having it die again from no fault of our own. That was really unfair. ... show more

I purchased this Tamagotchi for my nine-year-old daughter. She has really enjoyed playing with her virtual pet and it brings back old memories for me playing with one as a child. She originally was interested in the upgraded virtual Tamagotchi pet that ranges between $50 and $60. I chose to buy this one For her to be sure that she would continue playing with it. It is a really great way to teach a child how to care for a pet.
