  • Outstanding
Bought this to replace one of my old Takagi waterheaters that we installed 16 years ago. We installed two of them when we built our home and they have been very good and reliable. The motherboards on the old ones went out within a week of each other after about a year, burnt spot in exactly the same spot on both, but after replacing them under warranty, they have been flawless. I've just had this new one installed for a few months, but so far, so good. Great product, would buy again. ... show more

  • Nice unit. Plumber did a great job with the install, no issues.
Got a great price on Amazon with free shipping. Arrived quickly, scheduled time for plumber to install. Unit went in with no issues, took about 4-5hrs for install. Set at 120 F supplies the hot water we need. Unit is quiet.

  • Still Working Well
This is easy enough to install if you have a mechanical background. We've had no problems. I'm glad we switched to tankless. Followup: A year later and it has been completely trouble-free.

  • the technology is not there yet.
I wasn't told the following: 1) That the tank has to be cleaned twice a year (which is not cheap) because of the buildup of scale in our area (even with an extra filter); and 2) the tank can't be installed with the existing venting from our old water tank. Our gas pipe is 1/2 inch but the tank requires 3/4 inch. Since this tank can't be returned, save yourself the hassle and consult an installer first before you even consider buying it. ... show more

so far so good! love it. If I have so say something... hooking up the neutralizer might be a pain in the a**, perhaps a little noisy when it fires up. Will see how it perform over time.

Works Great. Attic installed. Surprised how quickly heats water. Install cost $3900, this include unit, install cost for 3rd floor, remove old tank from 3rd floor, all lines, service line, descaling cartridge, PH neutralizer cartridge for drain line, city inspection fee ~$150, power outlet next to unit, someone going on roof, 3rd floor-not many plumbers want to do it and might hire external roofer - 3rd party- adding vents, removing old vents and sealing roof. Not hearing any noise even though is above my head in attic over master bedroom. No issue with cold sandwiches etc. This is in warm climate, Houston TX, might be different in northern climates. ... show more
