I've been looking on and off for a black coat for about three years without much success. I had seen one I loved in a catalog a few years back but was put off by the $700 price tag. That said, this Tahari coat is nearly identical, if with a more interesting collar. The cashmere, double-sided without a lining, is elegant which makes it the prefect coat for spring and fall, or year-round in New York City where it never seems to get all that cold anymore. The reviews mentioned it ran small ( I'm size 10) so I ordered a medium, and it's perfect. The sleeves are cut narrow, so I wont be wearing any heavy sweaters under it. The coat is belted, but I wore it open today ( 36 degrees, sunny and and windy) with a silk scarf and it looked smashing. Don't delay.

Color is true to the photo. No lining, but I this is what I consider a "dress coat", so it works. The collar adds interest and shape-i live. The material is a little scratchy, but you can't expect Charmin softness with wool. Overall it's a great buy for me.

I actually saw this at Macy’s last winter and I didn’t buy it because it was so expensive. It’s at least $100 less here. It’s so soft and comfy. Not too heavy not too late. Runs a little bit small. Order one size larger.

Too bad. I was expecting more from TAHARI! The coat has no inner lining. How does one wear a scratchy wool cool with no lining? It is beautiful and cut well. So sad.

It has been years since I purchased a wool coat and for some reason wanted to do so this year....this coat hit the mark...I got it today and was on pins and needles because of some of the reviews written here...well not only is this coat heavy enough to wear in 30 and up degrees weather( live NYC) but the design and style is complimentary to any figure...the only draw backs are if you got a stomach pass this one and the coat is not lined...you definitely need to be a lot slimmer in the waist line to pull this off... I am 5'6 and wear a size 16...I can wear a 14 too and am not heavy chested. The color is awesome a nice charcoal gray and the length is at you leg calf... Texture of the coat is soft...I learned a long time ago wool should not be worn in wet weather so this coat will remain soft...sleeves and long and come a little pass the wrist...I know this designer and usually the coats run for 800.00 or more...to get the coat at this price was a steal...the only thing I plan to do is put a snap enclosure in the inside so when the coat is not belted it is closed...arrived quickly...and well packaged...really happy

I wore this to a Christmas event. The temp was 35/36 F. I had three other layers on and I felt like I had a thin jacket on. I was so disappointed and cold. Also, I only wore this maybe 3 hours and the amount of lint attracted to it was so incredible I couldn’t believe it. I wore it only at a 5 star hotel! I have leather seats in my vehicle and no shedding animals! It took me FOREVER to lint roll this!!!! It’s a wrap coat and I don’t know if it’s sewed wrong but when wrapped the lapels didn’t match up right. The jacket was roomy on me so I could layer underneath. If it wasn’t for the lint issue and lapel I might have kept it for just a fun nice jacket for like 45/50 degree weather. But I can’t lint roll this each time. I still can’t figure out how all that attracted to this jacket. I walked a lot and sat in a nice chair at the restaurant. I wish I took a picture.

Not for exceptionally cold days but a good mid weight jacket for dressier situations. I’m 5’3” 115 and the extra small is a good fit. It stops mid calf on my legs. My only complaint is that the construction is not what one could hope. I had to trim several long threads and after wearing it a dozen times one of the belt straps tore loose. It was a quick fix with a needle and thread but it wasn’t well made to begin with for that to happen.
