This tabletop vise is economical, and functional. With 3" jaws lined with tough rubber, it will not scratch precious metal. The clamp has a wide enough opening to fit any bench or table. The ball and socket configuration allows the jaws to be tilted and rotate 360 degrees, but holds jaws firmly in place at any angle. Fits any bench up to 2-1/8" thick.

For the price it’s made well and very versatile. It’e easy to position unit to accommodate your comfort to work on small items. The only recommendation is adding adhesive to the rubber bumpers backs 1 that you can pull of. The two black rubber bumpers could possible fall off and be lost.

Very versatile tool. It is very well suited for small, lightweight work. I use it to hold a 24 inch Machete while I sharpen it with a file. It works OK for that job, but moves about slightly while I am working with it. Anything larger and it would be too lightweight.

    • Great Little Vise!
I absolutely love this little vise! It is perfect for filing and sanding small pieces of metal for jewelry. When it arrives it is stationary and does not swivel. There is a philips screw at the base of the swivel socket. Just loosen it until the ball swivels nicely in the socket. A little WD40 on the ball allows it swivel with ease. Can't imagine it would work very well for heavier uses, but it is really perfect for small things. If you get the tension just right, you can swivel it without releasing it each time. The rubber covers on the vise head protect the metal from scratches and unwanted marks. Really perfect for jewelry making. Pleasantly surprised with the quality for such a low price. Definitely 5 stars! ... show more

Very nice vise for the price. I too had problems getting the rotating ball to move so I took the suggestions from other posts and sprayed WD on it and loosened the ball screw. Hey worked like a charm. As I said a great little vise. There were no instructions with it so I sort of had to figure it out on my own. I have owned vices before but they were larger and not much to them. I must say Amazon thank you for offering this tool. I had looked at other small vices but the reviews for this one sold me. Amazon my life would be awful if I did not have you for all my shopping needs. Love Amazon Prime. Now back to my jewelry repairs! And anything else that requires a vise. Maybe a lawn mover blade to sharpen? Yeah it's that sturdy However I mounted it on my computer desk since that's where I do most of my work. ... show more

Just received my vise yesterday. It is just what I expected, and it is well made. The only complaint is I did not know that the ball joint to angle the vise was controlled by a metal handle similar to the one to open and close the jaws. I attempted to move it by sheer force after using WD-40. There were no instructions. I had ordered another vise in a dark green color before seeing this vise. I ordered it because it appeared to be a light gold. It was actually more of a pale blue/silver, but it matches my craft center better than the dark green. ... show more

Read other reviews before buying and knew ahead of time that it was not heavy duty, and the jaw size was a bit small. However, I knew what I needed it for (make walking sticks/canes, and had to be able to attach it to a community picnic table when I used). I also understood that I would simply be attaching a jig permanently to the vise for when I steam straightened the sticks. The strength of the grip was perfect, but very little pressure is placed on it. I also made sure to measure the wood I used for the jig to be sure it fit in the vise. Unfortunately I have to give this a bad review. I spent more time fighting to get this thing to work then actually using it as a tool. The orbital head never tightened down fully and as a result as soon as I started cutting or sanding the entire contraption would fall over.
