  • Works great! Buy it and don’t look back!
Let me say, like many other screen printers I always disliked burning screens. This unit has changed all that! First try it works awesome! I use blue AP emulsion from screenprintdirect.com. It burned great at 38 seconds. Also the vacuum setting I use is 70 seconds and my 20 by 24 screens are good to go. Looks great and works great: don’t hesitate to buy. I waited because it wasn’t Royonet or any major brand. But this is far cheaper and I couldn’t imagine needing anything else. The only reason I wouldn’t get this is if my screens were larger. Anything over 20 by 24 won’t fit good. Saves a lot of time! ... show more

  • Solid, basic home exposure unit
Arrived well packed in a wooden crate, and is in good condition. it's not too terribly heavy, two people can easily move it around. I agree with above review that instructions would be very helpful, as it operates a bit differently than other exposure units I have used. The way this operates is that you clamp down the lid, and when you hit start the vacuum seal turns on for a specified amount of time. When that timer gets to zero, the exposure lights turn on. The timer is basic but easy to use - hit the vacuum or exposure button, then increase or decrease the time. 45 seconds on the vacuum gets you to a tight seal, and then your exposure time will vary by medium. Will update this review after a few exposures. UPDATE - September 2021 After some hiccups I've sorted my home screen printing setup to the point that I am producing work consistently. So here's an update! This is how I've gotten all of the various components to work together well. I use Ecotex purple emulsion to coat my screens (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B075SGLRM8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1). I only print on paper, so I use 230 mesh screens (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GWACATK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1). I have a Brother laser printer (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FMS1JSS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and found that it did not print opaquely enough on transparencies to get good results. I have had success printing right on laser paper. To be sure I get enough light through, I expose for 400 seconds. This may be overkill, but it's been working. A friend of mine has much better luck using inkjet printer + transparencies. The exposure unit has been performing well. One issue I've had is that the rubber mat has pulled away from one of the screws anchoring it to the frame. The unit maintains suction, but every 30 seconds or so you'll hear a whine just like air being let out of a balloon. Thus far, I've remedied this by carefully closing the lid while pulling the rubber toward that small gap. I'll figure out a permanent fix, but so far this has worked well. ... show more

  • Way nicer than I expected for the price
So I haven't put this thing through it's paces yet, but so far I'm pretty blown away at the quality of the machine. Most vacuum units from known brands in the industry start above $2k so I was expecting some pretty jank build quality. I'm pretty surprised how nice this seems. It was very well packaged, and in perfect condition. I sorta figured it would be put together cheaply with rivets and glue but it looks like they almost exclusively used stainless alen head bolts, and it should be very easy to repair or disassemble if necessary. The vacuum is slow but works perfectly, about 60 seconds seemed right for my 20x24 aluminum screen. The glass has zero visible imperfections, and seems plenty strong. The rubber seems high quality, and again wouldn't be a problem to replace if damaged. The timer system works as expected, set the vaccum time, and exposure time, hit start, and the vaccum will go until it finishes the countdown, then the lights turn on and the vaccum continues through the exposure cycle to ensure a proper seal is held. I'm so used to being disappointed in most machines these days. Even when you spend too much on the name brand stuff, it's always obvious they cut corners. This unit doesn't have the nicest finish, it has some sharp edges, I'm sure the vacuum pump isn't the best, but for how much this cost, I'm extremely pleased. Nice work. ... show more

  • Just arrived - so far great product, but NO manual or instructions.
Shipped safely, looks great, turns on, but there is no instructions included in any way. I do realize that it is not a complicated machine, but I am new to screen printing. Do you (seller) by any chance have the link to a set of instructions? Thank you so much for offering this item.

  • Works great
We have been using this exposure unit for about 6 months and have never had an issue with it. We have found that 15 seconds is a perfect exposure time for us, we just adjusted the time until we found the one that worked best.
