This is a nice tablet at a great price which makes it a... Great value? Yeah, but with a good sized caveat. The 10GB "RAM" number is - not true. The tablet has 4GB of RAM, and uses "Dynamic RAM Expansion" to make it look like 10GB. It's using 10% of the on-board _storage_ to do this. DRE is a wrapper around the concept of a "swap" or "page" file. This is "virtual memory", sort of. In this scenario, when you move away from from an app, it will generally no longer get CPU access, it's just sitting waiting for it's chance. DRE will take all the memory that the app is using, "save it somewhere", and free up that memory for another app. When you bring the first app back to focus, it will be loaded from "somewhere", and allowed to run. This process will repeat each time you change apps. That "somewhere" is storage. SD card, SSD drive, etc. Which is a LOT _s l o w e r_ than RAM. The DRE wrapper here has been done pretty well, and the tablet runs great for all sorts of stuff. I'm using it with a MIDI keyboard as a music scratchpad with a number of apps installed. Actually, you may find that the tablet runs better with DRE turned OFF. (setup -> system -> memory extension -> set RAM extended size. Pick NONE) There's no reason NOT to buy this tablet. It's really quite nice. But know that the memory number is - "virtual". ... show more
