I have bought several of these from this same company and I have been happy with all of them. This version I bought over 2 years ago and it still work great. I dug out the centers of my dune (ornamental) grasses & placed these inside so it makes it look like the grasses are glowing at night, really cool effect. If it gets full sun all day I have found them still lit up into the early morning hours of the next day. The cord is long enough that I can have the light inside the plant and still get the solar panel far enough away so it isn't stuck inside the shadow from the plant. Good quality, really bright. They last at least 4 hours after sundown. Not as much on a cloudy day. I had some difficulty with the threads on one of the connectors. It was not made well, so it was very difficult to secure a tight tight connection. And NO, I did not cross thread the connection. All is well with a little WD-40. Got these as an alternative to wired up lighting for my porch columns and I’m happy with the result. Charge lasts way into the early morning hours, even with partially shaded panels, and adds a nice visual impact.

They are very bright which is really nice for what I needed cuz I needed them for inside a building but it's nice that I can put the unit outside of it the only downfall is that the shut off is on the solar panel so you cannot control just the light by itself

I needed a small spotlight to shine on our front window to show our Christmas decorations. This spotlight came with a separate solar panel with a long cord. These are actually meant to be placed into the ground and come with ground stakes. Because I have a driveway in front of this window, I had to place the light into a flowerpot under the window. This does cause the light to be partially blocked by the begonias. I wish it came with extensions for the stake, but this still did a good job. You can also turn off the light at the solar panel to conserve energy, plus you can disconnect the panel to leave it in a sunny location during the day to charge it up if necessary. My location doesn't get enough sun, so that is what I do during the day. The light is very bright, and it all seems well constructed, I would recommend. UPDATE: Dropping from 5 to 3 stars. After using this device, it apparently needs hours of direct sunlight. Placing the solar panel in direct sunlight for four hours will get you about 3 hours of light from this single lamp. This doesn't measure up to today's solar powered devices. Dissapointed. ... show more
