  • Systane Nighttime Lubricant Eye Ointment Review
Pattern Name: Health Personal Care
This Systane Nighttime Eye Ointment is really helpful if your eyes get dry, especially at night. It’s thick and soothing, so it actually stays in your eyes longer while you sleep instead of drying out quickly like regular drops. I especially liked it for face-related recovery situations where your eyes feel extra dry or irritated (like after cosmetic procedures or anything where you’re sleeping differently or not blinking as much). It gives a really noticeable “coating” feeling that helps your eyes feel protected overnight. The only downside is that it can make your vision blurry right after you put it in, but that’s expected with an ointment like this. Overall, it works really well for overnight dryness and helps your eyes feel way more comfortable in the morning. ... show more

  • Amazing, lasts all night & I use less drops during the day
Pattern Name: Health Personal Care
Buy this, it works! I was having major issues with one of my eyes, extreme pain, sensitive to light, red, itchy & irritated every couple weeks. First eye doc visit, we just assumed I scratched my cornea. By the 3rd visit was told recurrent corneal erosion. Saw someone else for the 4 day follow up & she said use eye drops as soon as you wake up, before you open your eyes...first I was like yeah right, I need to see to find the drops, if I even remember...then I felt it happen, my eyelid stuck to my eyeball overnight & ripped off part of my cornea when I first opened my eyes...yikes! But guess who never forgot again and kept her eyes closed until I felt around and found the eye drops lol. That helped but I realized my eyes were really dry & getting worse...thanks autoimmune. I'm going threw eyedrops like crazy, needing to use them like every hour because my eyes are dry & hurt. I figured there's got to be something that can help that's not full of steroids or needs a Rx. I prefer this brand of drops and after an Amazon search landed on this. I love it just has 3 ingredients, I don't love it's mostly petroleum, but felt better knowing that it's white petroleum which is highly refined to remove (hopefully) all toxins. Either way this stuff works well & I've had no issues. It's a tiny little tube but you only need a little, so it will last a long time & was inexpensive vs drops. My only complaint is when this type of tube, when it's accidentally/unknowingly squeezed when closed, it just comes gushing out when you take off the top. It seems to be better now that it's not so full. I use every night before bed & my eyes still feel lubricated when I wake. My eyes have improved significantly to the point I'm only using drops a few times a day! Yay! ... show more

  • The only thing that really helped after wind burned eyes
Pattern Name: Health Personal Care
I experienced a sudden extreme bought of dry eye months after starting a job that requires me to get in and out of many many cars after driving them for only a few minutes at a time. My eye problems started at the end of the summer where I had grown into the habit of, after getting into hot car after hot car, I would crank up the air conditioner sky high and the fan speed up as high as possible, and point the fan straight at my upper body and face. Because I was only in each car for a few minutes, I had the air blasting at me nearly all day. Further, during this time we had a few weeks where it was constantly windy. This all led to my eyes becoming extremely painfully dry (which has never ever happened to me before), so much so that I had to wear laboratory goggles in my home and motorcycle glasses outside and at work. I had to shut my eyes when walking because I could feel the air hitting my eyeballs like paper cuts. It was excruciatingly painful. I got gel eyedrops but those never lasted more than a few minutes at a time and still did not help as much as I needed. Then I bought this at my local pharmacy and, even though this is a night time eye product, I had no other option than to use this during the day and at night. After doing that for several weeks my eyes began to heal. Even now I use this whenever I feel that my eyes have been or may be exposed to prolonged wind or fans, and today my eyes seem to have recovered. I’m very thankful for this product and will never go without it again. I try to carry it around with me wherever I go. This product has the consistency of Vaseline basically, so when you put it in you will have blurred vision. However, that was something I was willing to live with as the pain was unbearable and the relief this ointment provided was instant. The way I apply it is I lift up my upper eyelid, squeeze some ointment out underneath it, and do the same for the lower one, then I roll my eyes around both ways. I also put this in as many times a day as I need. Update: as of 12/18/24, the sides of the tube split open and began leaking out. I put electrical tape around it, so hopefully that will stop the leaking. I will still use and keep purchasing the product as it’s the only thing that helps me, but may handle it with more care so this doesn’t happen again. ... show more

  • Sistine Nighttime Eye Ointment

This works well at night, keeping your eyes from drying out. The tube is not large enough to last me a month. Sometimes there is a large area of air in the tube, and I feel it does not have enough of the product in the tube.

  • A Lifesaver for Severe Nighttime Dry Eyes
Pattern Name: Health Personal Care
I've struggled with extremely dry eyes at night for years. Sometimes I would wake up and it felt like my eyelids were stuck to my eyeballs. The pain was intense, and I dreaded opening my eyes in the morning. This ointment has made a huge difference for me. I apply it every night before bed, and it helps keep my eyes lubricated while I sleep. Since I started using it regularly, I've experienced much less dryness and discomfort overnight. A little goes a long way, and although it can make your vision blurry right after application, that's not an issue since I'm going straight to sleep. It has become an essential part of my nightly routine. I like it so much that I've set up Subscribe & Save so I never run out. If you suffer from severe nighttime dry eyes, this product is definitely worth trying. ... show more

  • Successfully treats my dry eyes issues
Pattern Name: Health Personal Care
I have had dry eyes for a long time, and I occasionally have incomplete closures... the combination of those used to give me the more than occasional corneal abrasion. Uncomfortable, aggravating, and potentially vision damaging. A little dab of this each night is very effective in treating my issue - no painful dry eyes in the morning, and no abrasions. ... show more

  • Messy and goopy.
Pattern Name: Health Personal Care
I have mixed feelings about this product. It moistens well, but it is super goopy. It is hard to see once you use it, hence its nighttime use. It is messy and hard to control the amount. I wanted to love it, but I just don't.
