I was really excited to share about these Japanese-style kitchen knives. I thought that I had owned good kitchen knives in the past but I was so very wrong. After purchasing the SYOKAMI knives, I learned what a good knife really was. These Japanese-style kitchen knives are beautiful. The set includes an 8 inch chef knife, an 8 inch slicing knife, an 8 inch bread knife, a 6 inch boning knife, aa 6 inch utility knife, a 5 inch santoku knife, a sharpening steel, and a knife roll bag. Each knife feels really nice in my hand and the blades are sharpened to a fine edge. One thing that I had read about having a quality knife was that cutting an onion with a good knife wouldn't cause my eyes to burn as much and today I was able to experience it for myself. It wasn't until I nearing the end of the onion that I remembered that I hadn't been able to cut an onion without crying before. I highly recommend this quality set of Japanese-style kitchen knives. They will be the last set you'll ever need to buy because not only are they amazing but they also have a 100% satisfaction and lifetime warranty.

This is a really nice kitchen knife set that comes with a knife block to make it a complete package. It comes nicely packaged to ensure all the contents are protected. Each knife is nicely wrapped with a safety tip protector followed by a plastic sleeve and a paper sleeve to protect the blade. The knife block is well designed for beauty and functionality. Its slim design will fit in any kitchen and save space. I liked the well thought placement of the steel rod and shears located on the sides. The rear slots are for all the steak knives while the rest of the knives are held on by the front magnetic panel. The magnet is pretty strong and holds the knives in place if you place them correctly with the bolsters of the knives sitting flush with the top of the magnetic panel, otherwise the knives will slant like in one of the pictures due to weight shift. The knives come sharp out of the box and the handle design is comfortable to hold with the DOT holes in the handle to help with grip. I can't see anything negative with this knife set after trying them out for a couple of days. I do use a steak knife more often than the serrated(utility) knife so I put a steak knife on the magnet for easier access and the serrated in the back slot. The only thing that might be a problem to some kitchen is the lack of head space where the cupboards will be above the knife block and that can prevent access to the steak knives, steel rod sharpener, and shears. This quality knife set will be a joy to use for many years to come. I would recommend it to anyone in the market for a set or a gift.

Good value. Arrived sharp, attractive knives and block. The caps on the ends of the handles had a few rough edges where they met the Acacia handles. The thickness of the blades is not that great, but what I expected at the price point. They are easy to use, and easy to wash by hand.

I very much like this set, the only down side is that my upper kitchen cabinets are low so to pull out knife from back row I have to pull out whole stand from under my cabinet. Front row I use more often and that one is no issue as its magnetic...and love it!
