The Syneticusa Retractable Hard Tonneau is available for a variety of trucks but very few reviews for the Ford Maverick. If you'd like to understand some of the pro's and con's, I'd suggest looking for reviews of essentially the same/very similar cover sold for other trucks. Here are my own likes and dislikes. Likes: It looks great! Love it compared to what I see on friend's trucks. It opens and closes easily and I really like that I can lock it in any position. Fit well. The dimensions were perfect. My biggest nightmare concern was that a length or width would be wrong and it wouldn't fit well. Happy to say that wasn't an issue. Although I've seen complaints about the seal against the tailgate not being tight, I had no issue with this. You just need to make sure you slide the entire assembly forward or back a little until it is positioned appropriately. Also, make sure the side rails are level (see under dislike). Price. Admittedly, I threw some Amazon points at the purchase but it was still the cheapest retractable cover available by a significant margin. Still more expensive than other types of covers, but the cheapest of its type. Overall Quality. Despite the low price (relatively speaking), it doesn't feel low quality. The lowest quality aspect was that there are some foam strips you lay down at the front of the bed that seem so-so quality and you kind of wonder whether they will last. If I did it again, I'd consider using a roll of neoprene rubber (1" wide; probably about 1/4" thick) that you can find on Amazon instead of the foam strips they provide. Instructions. Overall, the instructions were accurate and informative with full size, glossy pages with color. Nicely done. The only caveat was the the installation instructions didn't really seem to discuss how to make the side rails level (see under dislike). Dislikes: It was easy to make an installation mistake. I missed the first page (how did I miss page 1?) to remove some temporary shipping blocks around the locks. I wasted time trying to figure out why the retractable cover would not fit into the side rail/support on one side. Duh! Easy once I realized my mistake! Less of a duh, but lesson learned was that I want to install a T-Slot rack on the side rails of this retractable cover. When I placed the rack mounts on the retractable cover side rails, I realized I had not installed them level. The instructions don't really explain how to make them level, so I spent some time loosening the clamps and figuring how to better position the clamps and which bolt to tighten first. The good news is that everything bolts together and there aren't too many mistakes that you can't undo and try again. Don't know: Long-term durability? TBD.

The good: The quality of the product is excellent. all metal parts with durable mounting hardware. very clean look and fits the truck very well. The Bad: First, the included weather seals are very poor quality and did not even survive the installation process. Second, the written instructions for installing on the Maverick is incorrect - step 1 states to apply two foam tapes which makes the seal too thick, and then step 3a uses another foam tape, the problem is that the product only included two foam tapes. I recommend not using the included weather tape and purchase a high quality replacement tape from a local HW store (you'll need 10 feet of tape) and that worked very well. Third, there are no "slits" on the clamp as mentioned in step 7 so installation required "pre-assembling" the clamp and mounting hardware together before sliding it onto the rail. Forth, the order of washers on the bolts were not documented - should have been easy enough to add a picture. I think that the estimated "1 hour" install is doable if you have done it before and you had a better foam tape that did not rip during installation. For a first time install, it will likely double or triple the estimated installation time. Despite the numerous "bad things" , the quality of the product more than compensates for the poor instructions and unusable foam tape. As for actual durability, i will update this review after some use, particularly after a rain.

I'll echo other reviews and say that a couple points in the installation manual were incorrect. However, you can find Syneticusa cover install videos that walk you through everything. In general, the installation wasn't too bad. There are two major downsides to the design of this product: 1) The cover panel is not flush with the top of the truck bed which prevents you from mounting a rack system close to the bulkhead (the cover panel is about 10 " long). This limited the racks I could purchase - for instance, the Yakima Overhaul HD system with side rails needs at least 36", but with this cover panel I fell just short of the minimum length requirement. Other tonneau covers, like Retraxpro, do not block rack mounting rails with their cover panels and have rails with mounting spots along the entirety of the bed. 2) The bumpers required for locking the cover reach a couple inches into the bed, which blocked my bed extender. I had to file these down a bit to be able to flip my bed extender onto the tailgate when needed. I think it's a solid, fine-looking cover if this is the only bed accessory you plan on buying. If you are interested more flexibility for rack systems, I would shell out the extra cash for a tonneau with more mounting options.

Would allow a few hours to install. It’s not difficult but takes a bit to install if you have never done one before. Quality is good and with the drain tubes I get no water in my bed. Only negative I have is there isn’t enough angle for the drain tubes to actually drain. Though I wouldn’t blame the product as much as the Maverick just being a small truck. I just occasionally pull the tube from the bed and let the little bit of water that’s in there out. Pro tip: the install video on the manufacturers website really helped with the tricky parts in the written instructions. Seems to be well made and love that it’s $500-700 cheaper then the other retractable covers online.

The Tonneau cover is well put together and operates as expected. The six mounting clamps are too tall so they only clamp a small area of the bed so I am concerned about mechanical security. The tonneau cover perimeter seal isn't compressed so water leaks are a big question mark. The cab seal on the front of the tonneau cover has gaps so water leaks are a big question mark too.
