I really wanted to love everything about this car seat but the install was horrible. The manual is like one manual for all their car seats and not car seat specific it’s also next to impossible to get the liner off of you need to wash it and the manual doesn’t tell you anything about taking it off. My little man does have a lot of room and there’s a ton of padding. I do like that the straps you can just pull to adjust and the headrest and incline are very easy to use. ... show more

    • A step up from the symphony elite!!!
A bit wider so more hip and leg room and fits in my car much better! Ended up giving the elite to my mom who has an SUV and has a bit more room. The price is slightly higher but with the extra anchors I just feel better about this being his daily driver so to speak

    • Robust - in all senses of the word
New foster parents here without a ton of experience with car seats. We had a convertible seat in our SUV which allowed us to detach from the base and use with a stroller and we loved it. This evenflo car seat was our second purchase for our hatchback and could not be further from our previous experience. First, this thing is way bigger and required me to slide the passenger seat forward significantly to install. Getting the base attached and not moving around was also much different than our other seat as there was no tension rod, this relied on tightening the strap which I never felt like I could get quite as snug. Once installed I was not able to push the passenger seat back far enough for me to get in (6'-4") with the car seat in place. For all of the struggles this seat is really great. Once installed the belts for the child adjusted much easier than our other car seat and the construction in general just felt stronger - which definitely gives you peace of mind that it is protecting your child. The four stars are for the size and the bit of struggle installing it. We do a lot of DIY projects and are generally pretty handy, but we are new to the kid thing so maybe we just missed something. ... show more

    • A little TOO spacious for super young ones.
We liked this car seat, but ultimately it didn't end up dethroning our favorite. There's a lot to like about this seat. It's well made, the baby is comfortable in it, and it grows well with your child. Material and workmanship both seem very nice and honestly we wouldn't be concerned about carrying our daughter around in it now that she's a year and a half old. We weren't thrilled with other aspects of the seat. We use the LATCH system, and was disappointed that this uses the old clipping mechanism instead of the newer quick release straps. If you're moving this between cars a lot, this will definitely slow you down. We also felt like the seat was a bit TOO spacious for a very young infant. There wasn't nearly as much lateral (side to side) support with this seat as there was with our chosen seat. Our daughter was born under 5 pounds, and even when she was 5 pounds, I wouldn't trust putting her into this seat until she got over 12 pounds or more. Just feels like there's too much wiggle room - even using the inserts. We also felt like the cupholders were an odd choice. They aren't terribly deep and the elastic, while being a clever idea, just didn't work as well as a good, deep cupholder. As far as the comfort goes, our girl seemed to like it, but we didn't really notice any difference in the "comfort mesh" than with any other seat we've tried. Their back is going to get sweaty, period. (At least if you live in the western states.) Despite our concerns, it IS a good, well built seat. We just don't think it quite justifies a full 5 stars as there were just one too many things we weren't thrilled about. Still, as one of the more budget-friendly seats, it's good for what it is and we can recommend it - but only if your child is a little older. ... show more

This seat gives the right amount of room for growing stages. I am pleased with the fabric and the harness system. Adjusting is simple like many other seats. The colors are holding well even with sun exposure. Good choice for me.

    • Happy With It
A great versatile baby car seat. Lots of room for my tall than average toddler. It’s her first forward facing car seat and she loves it. When you pull the strap to tighten the seat belt, it tightens from the bottom not the top. My husband likes this better than the belts that tighten from the top.
