READ ME!!!!! Seriously won’t regret it. Things that I wish I would’ve known before I bought this product... $20 for smart bulbs is a great deal, but I almost regretted it. I spent a whole day trying to figure these things out and I went back and read the reviews and realized many other people had a hard time installing these too. I wanted these to work so bad though!! So I called customer service. A rep named Sharon hung up on me three times and although I was encouraged to write an email or wait on the line for approximately 12 mins each time I found that it was more like 5 mins each time. I finally got a different rep who transferred me and walked me through it one more time. This is what I learned. Once you downloaded the app and installed the light bulb, if the “easy” installation didn’t pan out for you even after switching your WiFi to 2G, TRY THIS Turn on and off the switch five times. If the light starts blinking slow this is an indication that you should do the advanced installation method and the app basically walks you through it. If the light blinks fast it won’t pop up when it asks you to find the devices hotspot, it HAS to flash slowly. Do this to all the light bulbs. They WILL work. I promise!! They work perfectly with my google home now, and if your adding more than one bulb to a fixture, you have to individually connect them and add them to a specific room on your google home app in order to ask google to turn off all the lights on a specific fixture or room, otherwise it’ll only turn one on at a time. If someone had figured this out and posted it on a review, it would’ve saved me many phone calls and my afternoon. Hope someone out there appreciates this!! :) this ended up being a really good buy if you want a smart home but don’t wanna buy the more expensive ones. ... show more

Works with Alexa voice and app, and Sylvania WIFI app. Set up was a little tricky. Must use only "Sylvania Smart WIFI" app (with orange WIFI icon) for initial set up so choose carefully. Sylvania app said it auto connected with Alex, but I had to go into the Alexa app and manually add each bulb via the "device" icon before Alexa voice control worked. I could then change their names ( I suggest you change the bulbs' names to something more personal other than their part numbers which is the factory default) and add location markers with the 'gear' icon while in the Alexa app. Only works with 2.4G WIFI, so dig out you account name (or let the Sylvania app show your choices), and password. It won't let you connect to 5G (or your neighbors' WIFI) without your correct info...just like most every WIFI device. I can turn 4 bulbs on/off, dim, change 'mood'(pre-defined output), set time/schedule individually, all together, or within a named group, via Sylvania WIFI app, Alexa app, and Alexa voice. I can even individually control bulbs in a multi-bulb fixture. You must leave light switch "ON" 24/7 or you will disable the WIFI receiver in the bulbs and lose all remote control options. You can set up your light bulbs and use the fixture's 'old school' light switch to turn off/on and the bulbs will retain their last setting (mostly..I have had to reprogram once) Finally I find the light from the 60 watt version warm, and color enhancing, just like the manufacturer claims.     • Sylvania Smart + Wifi bulbs don't work as advertised
Bought 8 bulbs. Should have read the reviews on Sylvania's own app first. Bulbs won't connect to it's own app and if you are lucky enough to get it to connect the you will lose connection soon afterwards. I would have expected better from a named product like Sylvania. Don't purchase these bulbs. They don't connect, therefore useless in a smart home environment. I watched videos and read product information and tried for a hour to get 2 different bulbs to work as advertised. ... show more

    • Difficult to set up,
Haven't gotten it to work yet. You need two different Apps on your phone, 2.4Ghz wifi (and a way to force your phone to connect on 2.4 instead of 5GHz). The instructions are in microscopic print. You have to register and set up an account with Sylvania (Why?). And then it doesn't work. There is an "alternative procedure" which I will try later if my now very grumpy mood improves. I expected better from Sylvania, and even if I don't return these because I manage to get them to work, I will never order more. Don't buy these. There is no excuse for it to be so complicated. Oh, and you get to enter your $#@$^% wifi password every time you try to set one up. The stupid app won't remember it. Inexcusable. ... show more

    • Don’t Work - Don’t Bother
Very disappointing. After repeated attempts with multiple bulbs and fixtures, these just plain don’t work. I had planned to try them out in my own home and also to give as a gift, but they are going straight back.

    • So Frustrating
OMG woof. These bad boys are the worst. Setting these up and connecting them to my Alexa is such a pain. It's doable, not impossible. But it takes so long and it's finicky. Even if I've already got them all set up and working, if there's even the slightest disturbance in the wifi or electricity, they lose their connection completely and then I have to go through the whole process all over again, which can take anywhere between 10 minutes to 30 minutes, for only two light bulbs. My other smart bulbs from a different brand don't need all that fuss. When my power went out, the other smart bulbs automatically reconnected back to my Alexa when the power and wifi came back. But these, I had to set them up all over again. And if I accidentally turn off the light switch for these bulbs, there's like a 50% chance they'll lose their connection. It's such a headache that I'm at the long that I'd just rather use the old school light bulbs rather than try to make these work AGAIN. So beware. These guys like to throw diva sized tantrums. ... show more
