Small and light weight which is what we needed. The bottom hand piece accidentally unattached from the main portion. Popped back on but pretty the kids will lose that part. Also, it’s unclear that you have pushed it open enough, the click is really quiet. I can see one of our teens pushing way too hard and breaking it. Great for back packs though!

I work as a security guard which means I do a lot of walking outside. This umbrella is perfect because you never know when it’s gonna rain. Yeah it is small, but it’s extremely easy to carry around with you and it has saved me so many times when it starts raining unexpectedly.

Folds to the size of a water bottle (like 500 ml size), so it can fit inside the bottle pocket of a backpack (or any bag). It does not have an auto deploy/fold mechanism, but that is the compromise you make for small size. I would not use it for non-travel situation.

EDIT: The umbrella also did not hold up in wind, flipped inside out a lot which made it a little hard to use during vacation. That said, the seller immediately send me a replacement which I will try out next time it rains here at home. I have to compliment the seller for quick response and sending a replacement so quickly. Hoping the new one does better. Still really like the size and look The plus: light, small, nice pattern on the inside. Handle comfortable. Held up well in light wind but heavy rain. The minus: Used it twice now and not for very long, already showing little tears poking through. I can tell because the color from the pattern inside is now starting to poke through to the outside where the hinges touch the material. I'm not hard on it, and literally have used it twice for an hour or so each time, then just folded it shut and wrapped the velcro around it. Pics attached. I am afraid it will continue to damage and create little leak holes. A bit hard to roll out, maybe it will wear in. And not as "flat" as other travel umbrellas, but the size is pretty nice overall.

The bottom part of the umbrella will pop off constantly. It got lost within the first two uses. Amazon won’t let me contact the manufacturer to see how I can get a replacement, so that’s a bummer.

For the purpose of "an umbrella that packs into a small space and didn't cost much" it's fine. But it is awkward to open and close, and it doesn't feel like it'd hold up to much rough handling. Fine if you have low expectations. 😊
