Got this in May and have it in my car. Has been used a lot this summer. It is not very lightweight but I don't mind it as it might be the material it is made with. Does have a slight odor (at the beginning) which was no problem as I left it, opened, on my patio for a few days. It really just needs to air out. I was pleased that this product was as advertised. It blocked the sun so much more than other brands. It is highly reflective, so others might get a flash of silver when they look at you. Blocking the sun effectively. it's still hot under that umbrella, but at least the UV is blocked

I use this umbrella every day in the west Texas. The UV index goes 10-12 daily during summer in where I live, and the umbrella is a life saver so far. My skin would burn without the umbrella whereas going outside is tolerable with it. What I don’t like is the handle. It is not very comfortable to hold it for an extended time and its coating came off after short use. Also, it is a bit harder to fold compared to a common nylon umbrella. ... show more

I don't like that it's hard to close. I have to press the button then use the floor to put pressure on the handle and press the umbrella closed. Otherwise it's a good umbrella that does provide protection from the sun. Umbrella takes 6-8 uses before the smell of the umbrella fades.

Used this on a trip to DC - lots of exposed, outdoor walking in the heat of summer. This little umbrella saved us sunscreen and beat the heat. I would 100% recommend it. It was sturdy and held up to the metro and days of sightseeing and use by my kids. The inside is super-cute (we got the flower one) and it also protected us from a downpour as well. I actually am considering buying another as we fought over it. It is heavier than your usual umbrella, but I liked that as it made it more durable and felt like it was actually protecting us. I take this umbrella out to recess in the afternoon in Texas. The shade it provides and the way it is able to lower the temperature is priceless. If you need protection from the sun to keep from getting a burn or just to keep cool, this will work.

This is a nice personal sized umbrella. I used it to beat the Texas heat during summer baseball. It’s a bit and heavier than typical umbrellas because of its thickness, but still easy to carry around. I could definitely feel the coverage from those uv rays!
