It keeps the sun out of their eyes as well as covering thier shoulders. It has breathable fabric on both side of their heads so they dont sweat in it. I love the color of this hat. It's perfect for my daughter. I like that it's adjustable to size and can grow with her. It's lightweight and sturdy, so I know it's going to keep protecting her head and face because the brim doesn't bend easily. It's high quality and breathable for the hot sun. This hat looks beautiful. It covers my baby from the sun and it stays put. The adjustable features help the hat keep steady. Baby keeps it on. She was 5 months old when she started using it. She almost 8 months old and still uses it. Great product !

I purchased the SwimZip Wide Brim Sun Hat with some concern that my 14-month-old might resist wearing it at the beach. Thankfully, she took to it right away and now wears it without any fuss. After using it for 2 months, I’m quite impressed with this product. The hat is adjustable to fit different head sizes, and the adjustable chin strap helps keep it secure. The standout feature for me is the anti-choke clasp, which gives me peace of mind knowing that my daughter can safely breakaway from the hat if needed. The brim is wide enough to provide excellent shade, keeping her face well-protected even when she’s looking around. We visit the beach often, and after nearly every trip, I toss this hat into the washer along with the rest of our beach gear. I use the delicate cycle and hang it to dry, and so far, it’s held up beautifully. I chose the orange color for the safety aspect—it’s easy to spot my daughter wherever she is. The media could not be loaded. All you need to know is my child hates wearing hats, but kept this on for two hours while playing in the water park without complaining once. It covers his ears, neck and face, so although we still apply sunscreen in that area, we don't need to worry if we don't get all the spots. I love how it sits on his head and has the string to make sure he can run, turn, go upside down, and this hat stays put. The fabric has a good quality, it seems lightweight, it is soft but sturdy, my child actually went under water showers in the water park and the hat kept its shape. We have the suit and the hat, they match, he looks adorable and I can rest that he is being protected from the sun.

This hat is great it keeps the sun off my baby's face. He can't pull it off although he tries bc he doesn't like hats. The material is nice. What am I saying...The material is beyond nice I am so pleased with it. I like the white mesh sides. It's easy to put on. The cord does twist up a bit above the slider when you pull it up it is a bit of a pain to have to keep straightening it out. It shipped twisted on one side so maybe the one side was sewn incorrectly so it keeps twisting after I fix it. I'm not sure if it's just this particular hat or if I ordered another if it would be the same but definitely not a deal breaker and I may order a second hat in another color for variety. I gave 4 stars because of that issue only. I wouldn't return it though as I love it and get tons of compliments on it. We got the aqua blue color and it's very bright. He looks adorable and is protected from the sun so job well done. There is also an adjuster at the back of the hat that works well. This hat should fit my 11mos old for quite some time.

The media could not be loaded. I got this for my 6 month old 14lbs daughter and it fits well! I like that it has a string to tighten the hat around the head. I tightened it a bit but not much. Even with the chin tie loose it stayed on well. Super cute!
