Since 1887 the Three Stars has been primarily an export brand from Sweden. The number three was commonly used in 19th century match trademarks, signifying luck or even spiritual, philosophical, or biblical relevance. • Superior Wooden Matches
We keep a box of these matches on the back of every toilet in our house. Lighting a match clears all odors immediately. These matches light right up with one strike on the box. Very sturdy and burn for just the right amount of time. Shake or blow to put out fire - very little smoke when they go out. Highly recommended..!!! ... show more

  • Small Wooden Matches Like Grandpa Had
There are several makers of wooden matches, but I'm an old guy who loves traditional looking things around the house. The packaging for the Diamond Brand matches, that were always around the house when I grew up, don't look as I remember. These have a nostalgic, traditional looking package and the matches are always of excellent quality. Maybe that's kinda silly, but that's what I like. And sometimes Diamond and some of the other matches don't work so well. These have a nostalgic, traditional looking package and the matches are always of excellent quality. The price is nice too. Although, when I was a kid, a 10 pack probably cost less than a quarter. ... show more

  • Great Matches! Let's Be Honest...
Let's be honest... I was hesitant to order these matches because some reviews said they break when striking and are dangerous. Thankfully I was taught how to properly strike a match when I was old enough to be taught by my parents. If you hold the match properly and strike properly, this is not an issue. These are great matches that are affordable and functional. I'm very happy with them. ... show more

  • Real Matches, like you remember them
Upon first glance, the nostalgia hits immediately. These aren't the plastic lighters or electronic variants we've grown accustomed to, but real wooden matches reminiscent of a simpler time. The wood grain is tactile under the fingers, offering a genuine feel that's been lost in modern commodities. Ignition is consistent, producing a flame that dances on the tip, casting a warm light. There's a particular satisfaction in striking a match, a feeling absent in the click of a button. The scent of burning wood and sulfur, while potent, evokes a certain charm that many might find familiar. ... show more

  • Matches
Seem to be well made, but do note, they are quite short/small IMO. If you are looking for short/small matches then you should give these a try. Keeping them to use around the house, (lighting candles & such), instead of outdoor use. Get the larger windproof matches instead if you are looking for some to use during outdoor activities. ... show more

  • These Swedish matches work wonderfully.
These matches are made in Sweden. Every match I strike lights the first time, unlike the blue tip matches I've used in the past. Also, the striking surfaces on the sides of the package stay in good shape even after using an entire box. As another reviewer has mentioned, I use these matches as an odor eliminator in the bathroom and they work great. They stay lit for longer than the blue tips. I also have them by the furnace just in case I need to light the pilot light. I love when things work the way they're supposed to! ... show more

  • So damn hard to find matches now days
I am a hiker and camper. I am a 70 year old female, as such, I remember when matches were easy to get ANYWHERE! Not so anymore. I'd think you'd find them in the picnick isle with paper plates and such. Nope. Ridiculously they might be in the candle section??? Matches have been replaced by firestarter sticks which run out of fluid, if you can even use them, which I can't given having to press so many buttons simultaneously. Paper matches just won't due. These are smart, and functional. Boxes are so nice they make for good stocking stuffers for men (who are harder than the dickens to buy for ). I've gifted them to my daughters as well, given their rarity. ... show more

  • Very short light-time. Qunatity over quality.
The matches are not particularly easy to light and once they are lit they burn out very quickly, making it rather difficult to light a cigarette for example unless your coordination is on-point. Lighting a candle can be a challenge as the wick takes longer to ignite then the match needs to burn up halfway. Overall I would say they are not very convenient to use and the little strip on the box does not to an exceptional job at lighting them. The upsides are that you get a lot of them (almost too many) and that their size (as much as it makes them burn out quickly) makes them easy to carry. Not a waste of money per say, but I wouldn't buy it again. ... show more
