Top Amazon Reviews

  • 1 week review, Awesome so far!
Color: Black Size: kids
TLDR: This is an amazing bike! Well worth the money imo. I've ridden it everyday on my 5 mile commute since I got it. It's been 1 week so I'll do a review now and update it as time goes on. While I haven't ridden any other ebikes, so I have nothing to compare this to, I'll explain all the things I like and dislike about it. First of all, I didn't think this would be one of the more cheaper options, but it was the cheapest electric fat bike on Amazon at $699.99 (+tax) at the time of buying. Got here in 2 days which was super convenient. Assembly was pretty easy and straight forward, barely needed the instructions. I'm a pretty short guy, 5'5, so the size is perfect for me. As some other reviews mentioned, if you're tall, it might be too small for you. I got this bike because I needed a commuter bike. I live in Michigan, so with the snow and ice, the fat tires were a necessity. It's currently close to the end of winter so it's still pretty slushy with some patches of ice. Riding through up to 5 inches of snow and ice is slow going, but manageable. The tires have really great traction and even with the horrible condition of the roads with potholes, it wasn't too bumpy without suspension. (Would be much better if it did). The seat it came with isn't very comfortable and I switched it out for a memory foam one that is way better, and a bit bigger. I also installed some cheap mudguards which are an absolute must of you plan to do any sort of off-road or wet riding. The ones I got don't cover the wheels enough and I still get showered in mud and salt slush when riding off road or through puddles. (If you plan to ride in the north during winter like me, definitely invest into some rust prevention spray, and rinse any salt off after each ride.) The speed is really nice! It goes pretty fast! And is super fun to ride. I can take it on any terrain, pavement, sidewalks, dirt and gravel roads, snow, grass, ice, etc. With full throttle, (not usually 20mph like advertised unless I'm going down hill), it averages around 14-17mph. And with just pedal assist it's closer to 10-12mph. And with steeper inclines, it doesn't go above 10mph. Kinda wish it could go a bit faster but I'm fine with how it is. Brakes are a bit squeaky, might go away with a bit more riding. And the bike itself isn't quiet, you can hear the motor when it kicks in but it isn't too loud. The battery is pretty great. It's been consistently below freezing here so the battery can't last to full capacity, it dies around 10miles of full throttle riding, 5 at the minimum when it's super cold and going uphill. And can go waay longer if you're only using pedal assist. I recommend bringing it inside and not leaving it in the cold/heat which are horrible for lithium ion batteries. It charges within a few hours and is ready to go again. (Not a huge issue but it's a bit annoying to have to pull the seat all the way up to remove it.) I'll have to see how much better it is in the summer. I've also gotten a TON of compliments from people, when I go to the park, the store, or just passing people. I like how it kinda looks like a dirt bike. The bell it came with is pretty helpful at alerting pedestrians. And I also like how the battery has an optional USB port to I'm guessing charge your phone? I probably wouldn't do that unless my current batter pack dies but it's nice it's an option in case of an emergency or something. You have to leave the key in the battery while riding which is good because I won't loose them, but they can get super muddy and gross. All in all, so far, it's definitely been worth the money and I'm super happy I got it. Even as a beginner in terms of ebikes, this is definitely something I'd recommend to people in similar positions. It's also a pretty good alternative to a car, saves money on gas and is better for the environment. ... show more

  • Unsafe, Faulty Manufacturing
Color: Black Size: kids
The media could not be loaded. My son could not have been more excited to open his birthday present so you can imagine the massive disappointment. When is new EB six broke within two weeks of taking it out of the box. The photos attached are of the front disc brake. Apparently the screws, which had some sort of blue Loctite on them, back themselves out, which resulted in the disc brake, eventually shearing off the last remaining screw. Fortunately my son was able to make it back home safely with his rear brake. I I took the bike to our local bike shop and they said they would not be able to help as removing the screws that were sheared off in the front wheel assembly could damage other parts of the bike and instructed me to reach out to the manufacturer, as it was clearly still under warranty. When I reached out to Swagtron, they requested that I submit pictures, which are the ones I have attached to, and they replied stating it was not a manufacturer issue, and I would have to purchase a new front brake assembly. I then called Amazon who apologized for the inconvenience, sent out a UPS driver to pick up the bike (which I repackage in the original box) and sent a replacement unit hoping to put that behind us. Today, less than a week after opening second bike, my son was in an accident due to rear disc brake failure. All of the screws holding the disc brake to the wheel are missing, my son’s helmet is cracked, and he sustained several minor injuries. The only good thing about this was it happened in a relatively safe space, but could have been devastating if there had been oncoming traffic or other riders. As you’ll see in the reviews this issue has happened more than once, so as a parent and biking enthusiast I expect this to be addressed immediately. ... show more
