Fantastic subwoofer!! Great ground shaking power for theater room use, but also super tight quality sound for listening to music. It is also beautifully crafted and great to look at (especially the gloss black). The cell phone app control is very useful. Also, the company has amazing customer service. They have very knowledgeable people who answer any questions You may have about choosing the right subwoofer or placement or set up.I called them a number of times and really enjoyed speaking with them. On one call, I was trying to decide between the 3000 or the more expensive 4000, and, given my room size and set up, they recommended that 3000 and it really impressed me that they were discouraging me from getting the bigger and more expensive unit. I was so pleased with this sub that I bought a second one for another room. I compared it to other subwoofers at Best Buy and it really blows away everything below its price range and out-does a lot of subwoofers that cost more. I would definitely recommend springing the extra bucks for the 3000 over the 2000 as you get a lot more for the small increase in cost. ... show more

This subwoofer simply produces the cleanest and deepest notes at this price range. There is never a concern about bloatiness at any particular frequency because the response curve is ruler flat down to the deepest octaves. I use this in a 2.1 set-up, paired with the SVS Prime Wireless Speaker System. The piano finish matches perfectly. I watch movies and listen to music an equal amount of time. As such, I need my subwoofer to be quick to properly reproduce music and deep to give a theater-like presence. This product fits the bill perfectly. What I like particularly about this subwoofer is that I can hear the texture in the bass. This is hard to describe. I had a much cheaper sub before that seemed to only belt out one note. The difference is like running my hands over an oil painting compared to doing the same with a pencil sketching. The improvement in detail is astonishing. I installed this unit in a large, open den/family room where the primary speakers are in-wall and in-ceiling. The SB-3000 produces enough base for you to feel when sitting on the sofa, and responded well enough to the receiver's set-up routine that it integrates seamlessly with the rest of the system. The only nit: some of the press on this unit hypes its app for adjustments. Sort of true...in the app there is parametric EQ (not graphic EQ), but no onboard sound analyzer. So if you want to tweak the unit you either need to go by ear, or have an external piece of gear. Out of the box settings as tweaked by my receiver work just fine, so I don't feel the absence of more adjustment support in the app. But if that sort of thing is important to you, go in realizing that the in-app tweaking is less than intuitive. ... show more

    • The Most Bang For The Buck At This Price
What's not to like about an SVS Subwoofer? As far as I'm concerned, the ONLY thing I don't like, is that the SVS app to control the SB-3000 requires you to give it permission to access your location. Now why in the blue blazes do they need to know where you are in order to control your sub? Answer, they DON'T. It's snoping, data mining, and I for one find it annoying, intrusive and uncalled for. Other than that, the SB-3000 is about as impressive as any sub I've ever heard. I spent quite a bit of time using the back panel to set it up, back and forth from my listening seat and had gotten it pretty well dialed in, or at least I thought so. But realizing there's controls in the app that you CAN'T access from the back panel, which is another thing I find annoying, (what if someone doesn't own a smart phone), I gave in, installed the app and give it permission to access my location, WHILE USING THE APP ONLY, and knowing it has preloaded sound settings in it, I set the sub to the preset "Music" setting, and custom set the two parameters in that and WOW, the sub integrated into my high end 2 channel stereo system so well I can't tell where the bass from my Bowers & Wilkins CM-10's leave off and the sub kicks in. It's more seamless than I would have ever expected. The bass is tight, punchy, never boomy, unless it's actually boomy in the music itself, and you can adjust it from nothing up enough to shake the glass in your windows. This might look like a smaller unassuming subwoofer, but it is far from it. It packs an incredible punch, and sometimes that's all you hear, or better said, "feel," from the sub. You don't know it's even playing except to feel the thud it can produce that your speakers can't. I paid the extra $100 for the piano black finish, which I'm not crazy about but it looks far more elegant than the faux black wood veneer. All in all, this is one impressive subwoofer. SVS is making it extremely hard for other subwoofer manufacturers to be charging thousands of dollars for their offerings when you can get the same performance, if not better, for far less from SVS. I'd recommend this subwoofer to anyone, bar none. ... show more
