  • Great Upgrade from Baro 9
Style: Race Titanium Color: Charcoal
After using my Suunto 9 Baro for six years, I decided to try the Suunto Race. I was looking for a better experience with the watch face (better visibility) and for a better heart rate capture (no more wild jumps, or having to wear the watch in the exact spot with the exact pressure). So far, I’m impressed with both. The screen is very easy to view and has all of the features you expect from Suunto. The heart rate monitor seems to be WAY more accurate as I haven’t experienced the same crazy heart rate swings I would see on my Suunto 9 Baro. For instance, I would walk with my old Baro and at times the readout would say my heart rate was 200+ beats per minute. With this accuracy also comes better calorie burn metrics. Let’s just say, I will need to reduce the calorie intake using this watch rather than the Baro 9. In short, I would say that it’s essentially the same watch, feel, size (slightly smaller height)) as I had before with some of the more annoying features of the old watch worked out. I will still use the Baro 9, but only when I’m afraid I will damage the new watch, like when I mountain bike. There was one issue where the watch disconnected from my Suunto App and it took me about an hour to figure out what was happening. Not only do you have disconnect the watch from Bluetooth, forget the watch on your Bluetooth list on the phone and one more step. Buried deep in the “connectivity” folder of the watch, you’ll find an additional connection to the app to your phone. You have to also disconnect this, otherwise the app won’t allow to connect after a soft reset. ... show more

  • Amazing GPS watch for a great price. Good deal!
Style: Race Color: Midnight
I love this watch! Impressed that Suunto is just as good as Garmin with a much lower price I still get all the training and fitness data plus great battery life that Garmin offers in its higher priced watches. Very easy to set up and use. I definitely recommend it

  • Better then Samsung/fitbit
Style: Race S Color: All Black
Suunto is great quality product. They are very durable. Battery is long lasting ( so far up to 5 days) and the features are amazing. Comfortable on the wrist as well. The look is clean and has a modern look to it. I have had multiple fitbits (trash), and owned a Samsung as well (battery sucked). Suunto has been my favorite. ... show more

  • Great watch for distance runners on both road and trail.
Style: Race Titanium Color: Charcoal
If you’re serious about distance and trail running this watch is a great value. The functionality and ease of use is excellent. I bought the titanium version, which is both light and comfortable. Using Bluetooth you can easily sync Strava and a host of other fitness apps to the watch.

  • Get a Coros Instead
Style: Race Color: All Black
The Good: Clear display and good battery life The Bad: The heart rate accuracy is awful. I see it skip around 70-90 bpm for an entire run, then yesterday I did a 9 miler, and this watch said I averaged 172bpm! I compared this to my Coros watch, which put me accurately right around 145bpm. My Garmin had similar accuracy to Coros. The running cadence is measured in rpm and not steps. e.g. The watch cadence shows 85-90, so you have to double that number to get an accurate running cadence. Maths while running is hard. I reached out to customer service who said there was a setting for it, but they didn't know where it was located, and we were unable to find it. The 5 or 6 times I have tried to use the "find my phone" function, it can never connect to it. I just tried it again with no luck, and the phone is on my desk next to me. However, if I go to the app on my phone, connect to the phone, sync activities, then try the "find my phone" function, it will work. The problem here is, if I don't know where my phone is, how can I sync it to the watch with the app? I'm getting awful rashes and burn marks from the band. I take it off to shower, and make sure it's dry when I put it on, but they won't go away. The rashes cut open and bleed sometimes during longer efforts, even if I don't have the band that tight. When I go for a bike ride, the watch won't stay high enough on the wrist to prevent from the dial digging into the back of my hand. To the point where it cut open my skin in the last race and I was bleeding from it. I try to pull it up on my wrist and tighten the band, but it still slides down as I ride. The magnet on the charger is weak. It's easy to bump it off and not realize it's no longer charging. Why not just make a clip one, or one that locks into place? This would help for longer events when you need to charge it in your pack. The app takes forever to load activities. I also cannot edit the display of an activity while I'm doing it. e.g. If I'm out for a run, and I decide I want to see my average pace, I cannot go into the phone app and add avg pace to the watch screen without stopping the current activity first. The menus for controls and activities seem haphazard and disorganized. I've slowly gotten used to them, but there are other watches with menus that seem to flow better. I reached out to customer service on these issues, and it looked like they just copied and pasted responses back, and said have nice day. Pretty disappointing experience. At this point, I'm just wearing it because I spent money on it, but I can't say I'm enjoying it. It will probably end up on eBay or at Goodwill. ... show more

  • Nice Watch
Style: Race S Color: Gravel Gray
Had this watch a week. So far so good. I am coming from a Fenix 6 that GPS went out. and I wasn't paying what Garmin is currently charging for there watches. The watch and band are nicer than my Garmin. I almost always use a heart rate strap for workouts, so I can't speak too much on that aspect, but it does seem similar to my Fenix 6. My one run without a strap was about 85-90% accurate, which is about like the Garmin 6. Daily heart rate accuracy seems similar to my Garmin. The app is different, but seems nice. So far it is a decent upgrade from my Garmin 6s. Side note, I don't run with music. ... show more
