Surprisingly these good quality crochet hooks doesn't give me and hand pain. The grips do make a difference and I would recommend it if you just can't stop crocheting in the late hours of the night. I like a good compact grippy hook. I'm hoping to complete a set of these.

A very comfortable crochet hook for extended sessions. I prefer the inline hooks over tapered hooks, so keep that in mind if you’re accustomed to tapered hooks (like Boye, Tulip, and a lot of the cheap Chinese hooks you’ll find here).

The hooks themselves are fine, but the "ergonomic grip" is sort of pointless. It's like the regular Susan Bates hooks with some rubbery grip, but it's so far down on the handle that it doesn't even really touch my hand while crocheting.
