FIRST IMPRESSIONS I purchased my survival shovel online thru Amazon, and it did not have a hatchet head included with it. I contacted EST directly to see if I could purchase the hatchet head separately and their customer services was excellent. They sent the hatchet head along with a L1 Torch headlamp right out to me. I own an RV and picked up these items to use this year during my camping trips. I wanted to give a first impressions review, and then I will follow it up in a few weeks with an update review once I have put them to good use. The survival shovel is excellent quality and feels very sturdy in hand. There is no rattling and when put together feels like this shovel can take on any task. There is no surprise that when receiving the hatchet head I assembled it immediately and got the same impression. It came very sharp and looks and feels like it can take some real abuse. I have been using the L1 Torch for a few weeks now as my EDC flashlight and it has replaced all other flashlight in my collection. I will be doing a completely separate review on the flashlight/headlamp but can highly recommend it as extremely high quality and as a light source that gets the job done. Not to ramble on but my first impression out of the box is I am impressed and I am looking forward to my first camping trip of the summer to put this all to work and see how they perform. Stay safe 😎

Just got this and am really impressed. I and gearing up for Adventure Motorcycling and needed a tool like this to set-up camp. It checks all of the boxes of compact, reasonable weight, quality construction, quality materials. Price is a little more than some but this is the real deal that should last for years.

This shovel appears to be very well made. The handles attach securely and provide a sure grip of the tool. The addition of the other functions that this shovel includes are great extras. The knife and saw are plenty sharp to get the job done for providing wood shavings, rope cutting and the like. Phillips head and flat head bit along with built in compass are available if and when needed. The whistle is almost useless, however, not even close to making me reconsider this purchase. The head of the shovel, this thing is just awesome. It will take a beating. It digs, chops, and cuts through roots without spending all your strength and energy! It can quickly be changed to use as a hoe for trenching or tilted even further and be used as a grappling hook. It is a little heavier then other options out there but it also offers far more practical uses! I am truly digging this e-shovel and am completely satisfied with this purchase.

I bought this primarily as a shovel as I liked the compact design. As a shovel it works well to handle some light duty work while on the trail. The other tools are just too gimmicky and flimsy feeling. The ferro rod is just stuck and I cant get it out. Overall its a fine shovel but if you are buying it for any of the other tools you are making a mistake.

I was in a situation where I needed on of these and did not have it. I wanted this one because of the reviews and features but had to wait for them to come back in stock. I just received this survival shovel and am very impressed with how solid it feels. I was worried that the hollow tubes would bend easy but they are actually very sturdy. Everything screwed together perfectly! I have no complaints at all. I wish they would add a fishing kit to the inside of one the handles. Will be taking this on a camping trip this weekend And will update review with more info after

Received the EST shovel as a gift, I have been using it in my hiking kit and at home- love it. The shovel can be adapted for a variety of uses from survival to suburban. The total weight is only (approx) 3 pounds and the shape is perfect for a pack. It fits nicely in a vehicle backseat pocket in case you get stuck or live where there is snow. The warranty is legit, Sam helped me when I needed a replacement part and I learned that there was a whistle I missed!
