I purchased one of these and it worked fine, so I ordered another. The power cord of the second one fit so loosely into the AC converter that it would fall out. Returned second one and ordered a third, which had exactly the same problem. It's going back tomorrow and I will order another manufacturer's charger. ... show more

This is an excellent alternative to the original surface pro 8 charger. It functions 100% just like the original charger. I ordered this because I wanted to have a backup charger just in case My original charger quit. This charger works exactly as my original charger. It charges at the same speed and the surface pro functions normally while plugged up to the charger. This unit states it has a 80W capacity with 60 watts for your MS Tablet and 20 watts PD. Only one like this I have found. The problem is that it was defective right out of the box. Not sure why but no power at the tablet connector or the PD port. Followed the directions included in the box. (very clear and easy to understand) SO no user error. Just a defective unit.
