Fits true to size. I think I could of sized down and been fine. But surprisingly it works wonder even while not skin tight like you would think you need. 1 week of diving with it and 13 hours underwater. It’s nice. I got 2mm and was in 77 degree water, bought this for 80 degree water but idk was just colder than normal this time of year. Worked great. So easy to pop off after a dive. Not nerdy looking either.

My kids love the pool. They love those water parks where there's a jungle gym that have sprays of water hitting you from random directions. They also love slides, which often require climbing up a set of stairs and waiting in line. In all of these activities, the slightest hint of wind make you long for a hot tub just to stave off hypothermia. Ok, not really, but you get the picture. This does an admirable job of keeping the trade winds from making me wish for electric blankets. I now look at lesser mortals who are shivering in rash guards (like that will keep you warm) and laugh internally while wrapped in 3mm of neoprene. I can tell that it's a little cold outside of this armor, but that doesn't bother me. The size chart with the height weight seems right on, I probably could have sized down and still been okay (I'm like 5'9" 205 lbs, and I got the 3xl). The decent thing about this jacket is that I can regulate the temperature by flapping my arms a little bit and letting in water. Okay, probably not how this thing is supposed to work, but at least I could make sure I wasn't so hot. It's flexible, so I don't really feel constricted or restricted when I am wearing it. The arms are a little long, but I just fold over the sleeves a bit, no big deal there. It's a little odd that it adds buoyancy, that's not a reason to reduce the number of stars. 10/10 would buy again, albeit maybe in a smaller size.

I did a back country paddling trip in cold waters. At times we experienced signficantly choppy waters during a couple days of our trip, where this wetsuit top, in combination with a spray skirt for my kayak, were the most important pieces of kit I had with me in those instances. While weather conditions were otherwise sunny and reasonably warm, the amount of water spraying, splashing, or just out and out ocassionally washing over our kayaks was substantial, and anyone without at least a spray skirt would've been pretty miserable. This wet suit top, combined with my spray skirt, allowed me to move along comfortable, dry and warm through all the windy/choppy periods.

Super warm no doubt. But the seems meet in the armpit so it’s a bit uncomfortable paddling for extended periods of time. The zipper is great and non intrusive. Arms are are just as thick as the body so it feels a little restrictive but overall a good deal. I had a hole pop up in the armpit seem after 2 surf sessions but I sewed it up no problem. If I could change one thing it would be the seems in the armpit, other tops have a solid piece sewn in that fits the armpit so when the top moves up it doesn’t ride into you causing discomfort.
