Description

The G2X Pro is a compact yet powerful polymer-body flashlight that uses a high-efficiency LED--virtually immune to failure since there's no filament to burn out or break--to provide two light output levels: a brilliant, penetrating, perfectly pre-focused 320-lumen beam, and a 15-lumen low-output setting that lets you greatly extend the runtime per set of batteries, an invaluable option when you find yourself miles from civilization. Press the tailcap switch for momentary-on low, press further to click constant-on low, return to off and press or click on again within two seconds for high. The tough Nitrolon polymer body is smoothly sculpted for a comfortable, secure grip and resists scratches, abrasion, and corrosion. A polycarbonate micro- textured reflector delivers a comparatively wider beam with generous peripheral light.

  • Honestly my favorite flashlight
I bought this as a backup to my 3 cell LED maglite, but has rapidly become my favorite for regular use. It's durable, and although it's not as bright as some, it's got a great throw, and it's still super bright and will easily light up literally anything on high mode. I originally disliked the fact that low mode was first, and I had to double press the rear button to put it on high mode, but honestly it's great now. If I need it to say, check an ID, it's nice not to immediately blind myself, my partner, the person who's ID I'm reading, and everyone in a 1 mile radius... If I need to do that, I have the ability to. When I eventually lose it, I'm definitely going to buy another one. My only issue with it is that it doesn't come with a pocket clip. You can easily get one for it though, I use the Thyrm low profile carry clip. ... show more

  • Great light for the money. Very high quality and Made in USA.
Since this light is so well reviewed and detailed online and in other reviews I will focus on the questions I had prior to purchase but couldn't find answers and some of my experiences with the light that I didn't see elsewhere. 1. Is 15 Lumens too low for regular use considering high is 360? - No, 15 lumens is great for average use. I have no issues with the low level being too low for my needs. 2. Battery life an issue considering the high lumens? – I used the light on a week-long camping trip and primarily used the low setting but frequently used high for very short periods. The batteries are still solid. I bought a back-up set of batteries just in case, but haven’t needed them yet. Some of the things I noticed about the light that I haven’t seen elsewhere: The tail cap switch/button is not as positive as I would expect from Surefire. This was especially true when I was just using the push and hold for momentary light. I played with the spring under the cap a bit and it really improved the issue but it’s still not ideal. Often I end up with the high beam when I don't want it which can blind me when being used close up. The nitrolon body feels like aluminum. I was expecting a rubbery feel based on the description but the body is actually very hard and looks very much like the aluminum head. A nice surprise and alleviates any concerns I had about its future durability. My light has a very small piece of plastic or rubber sticking out of the gap between the head and body. I assume this is some sort of gasket that was displaced when the head was attached to the body. It’s barely noticeable and doesn’t seem to affect performance but clearly is not supposed to be that way and is probably a manufacturing defect. The retail packaging is a real pain to open. I know it helps prevent theft at point of sale and protects the product but I had to work way to hard to get the light out of the packaging. I am really pleased with the light and don’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone. ... show more

  • Portable Daylight in your pocket
I bought this to go with an older, incandescent Surefire 6P tactical light and I'm very happy with my purchase. The G2X Pro Dual Output light features 2 power levels, low & high. On the low setting it's plenty bright for locating things in a dark house, garage or finding a dropped bolt under the hood of your car. But on the bright setting it will wash out even the Surefire 6P Xenon bulb. The 6P's Xenon bulb is very bright and will wash out the brightest of Maglite's beams by way of comparison. The G2X will light up things over 100 yards away quite nicely. Switching from low-to-high is easy. Push the tailcap button and you get the low power beam. Release and reactivate within 2 seconds and you get the bright high-power beam. If you push the button hard it will turn on the light in its current mode until you push the button again so you don't have to continuously push on the tailcap button. This isn't a cheap light and it shows in the construction. The body is a Nitrolon polymer that's not as cold to grab as aluminum and nicely contoured for a good grip. The head is machined aluminum with 6 flats to prevent it from rolling easily. The push button on the tailcap is rugged and sealed. The beam is pre-focused so unlike Maglights you can't switch from spot to flood style. But there is plenty of light output. Cons: Uses 2 CR123A lithium batteries which can be expensive. But you can buy a dozen for between $18-$20 via Amazon at the same time (recommended). Because of the high output capabilities, battery run times can be very short (read the descriptions). These are intended for short, periodic uses (i.e. police tactical flashlights, search & rescue, etc.) and the head/lens area can get too hot to touch if left on for extended periods. Mine is in basic black which is hard to find in the dark. For emergency kits I'd suggest either the Yellow version or the Orange Fire-Rescue version as they are easier to see in low light. ... show more

  • Best flashlight on Earth
Like most guys I have a lot of flashlights most of them very cheap, I decided to get a high quality one for my bug out bag. I looked at almost every flashlight on Amazon and read a ton of reviews, I saw hundreds if not thousands of reviews on SureFire flashlights, guys just going on and on about how great they were. I was skeptical and found it ridiculous paying $60-$100 for a flashlight but I finally pull the trigger and bought the G2X Pro Duel Output. Now I'm on board, this thing is awesome, its built like a tank. You can tell when you have it in your hand that it is built very well and they paid attention to detail. I like it so much I decided to make it my every day carry light and I bought a StreamLight as a backup light to carry in my bug out bag (the StreamLight takes AA and I have a solar battery charger). I also bought a 12 pack of cr123 SureFire batteries to put in my BOB for the G2X, on low setting the battery life is good so this will last a long time. While the StreamLight is a very good light and a little cheaper, I think it was well worth the money for the SureFire, going from high, low, strobe is much easier on the SureFire, it's brighter, better battery life, and overal feels much more durable. If a A-Bomb landed right on the SureFire I feel like it might survive, that's how tough it feels. It was well worth the money and I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants a well made high quality flashlight. ... show more
