Our 10 year old daughter is a competitve rider in Keyhole, Barrels, Poles, Flags, etc. In her 1 run at her very first State Championship event, she got thrown (her fault). She held onto the reins the entire flight, her pony stopped for her, she got back on and finshed her ride...with a very long time. We borrowed one of these sure grip saddle seats and she never had another issue the rest of the weekend...oh, and, she placed and brought home a trophy in Keyhole the next day. Later, the next day, her pony reared straight up a couple of times, acting persnickity, and she had no problems staying in the saddle and getting him back under control. We immediately ordered this and she and one of her trainers - who is a 5'0" adult borrowed hers this year at State to compete in her events.
