I ordered four of these as it said they were an MT7601 chipset, which I required. These were not, my computer says they are a Realtek RTL8188ETV, which does not work in my devices. I had ordered two (same make), and I assumed same model previously, they look the same (red ring) except the 802.11N is printed on the end, on these, and not molded as was done on the two others that work. I bought two of these and they appear to work just fine so far. I did find two minor issues. They get quite hot, I have other similar USB wifi dongles that don't get nearly as hot. Both of them had the same hardware address, a definite standards violation since every device is required to have a unique hardware address. It means you can't use two of these on the same network without forcing a hardware address change in software. Fairly easy to take care of in linux where I'm using them. Great backup wifi. It’s 2.4 GHz only. It’s super slow, but it bails me out of a jam sometimes when my primary wifi card has a driver problem up and I need to run another update to fix it. Driver is built into Linux kernel since forever so this wifi chip is supported by a lot of old and weird hardware. Very compatible. ... show more

Follow instructions for drivers and you will no issues with universal connections. Windows should find it no issues. Linux, Mint worked perfectly.

Value for your money, if it actually works. But, it needs some work with the hardware or software couldn't connect it to the computer. And, the simplest thing to do was to send it back.
