This is a decent rug for the price but there are a couple things to understand and expect. The rug won't lay out flat right away. There will be some "waves" and ripples. I think they will smooth out to lay flat with time. You'll have to improvise in the meantime. You can't expect perfection with a cheap rug. There was no heavy, "new rug" smell that I could tell. One thing that may be unacceptable for you is the color is not as shown or described. Maybe the company has Ray Charles or Stevie Wonder judging colors but everything you see in their photos that you think is brown is actually BLACK. The couch in my photo is brown. You can see the significant difference. A blind man doing 90mph on a moped can see the difference. Their "Coffee" color should interpreted as BLACK COFFEE. And, it's misleading to say Coffee but show photos that imply brown. I only bought the rug to add a little "home-i-ness" to my place for the time being, not to be a family heirloom. As long as you are flexible and accepting of its reality, I think you'll like the rug. I don't feel I've been cheated but I do feel I was mislead about the reality of the rug. I'll be buying another rug for another room but I'll be using a different merchant next time. ... show more

    • Synthetic & cheap. Which is what I paid for
I knew what I was getting myself into when I purchased a synthetic rug. I needed to cover a large area without spending a lot of money. So I purchase this one. It’s A LOT darker than expected. Almost black. I need to sweep it constantly as it gets dirty when you blink your eye. And it doesn’t feel good beneath. Your feet. Because it’s a synthetic rug. I have had quality wool rugs for years. I have also had inexpensive rugs that were decent. This is neither. But it covers my floor. So there’s that. ... show more

    • Hard to vacuum.
It's fine, but we have to vacuum it with our portable Oreck, and kind of "scrub" with the hose. Even so, little bits of string or lint or etc has to be picked up by hand so it can be sucked up the hose. I guess the carpet fiber is 'sticky'. I'm not a carpetophile. Maybe I should have known about this? Are my Betters sneering at my shocking lack of carpet knowledge? Maybe this is a real Carpet, not the walmart polyester squares I'm used to? It looks great in a dark room. ... show more

    • Don't go by color in picture
Don't go by the color in the picture here. I ordered the Coffee color. The rug is a chocolate brown, not a rust brown. Wanted it to go with my color of my focal wall. The picture shown would of been a great match. Too big and too much of a hassle to return. Other than that, the quality seems to be good. Good price for this rug, just wish the color was actually what is shown. Probably should of went with the toffee color. ... show more

Only had it for about a month, but so far wearing well. Its not the thickest/heaviest pile rug, but it lays pretty flat and looks more expensive than it is.

    • Beautiful rug only problem is I ordered coffee
Beautiful rug only problem is I ordered coffee, I received a rug that is a black trimmed with a black center design, not as shown in photo as all coffee. I would return but it is a large rug and would be hard to rewrap and send back. So I have decided to make do with it.
