Well, took a chance and purchased this machine; it was a good move! After using it the day it arrived and again two charge cycles today, I'm even more impressed. We have thick, clayey soil. My previous gas operated machine was heavy and bulky, and the exhaust was horrid, you know how those two-cycle engines are. We got an order of sixty grand fir trees a day or two before this arrived. I was able to drill nine holes the first day on the first charge, and then two charges today got me through twenty more - so half the job is done! It's a pleasure to use. Not as heavy as the gas operated drill, I thought "oh yeah, this might dig a hole" after looking at it. Putting it to the test proved it though. Dug holes just as good as the gas operated one, and because there's no exhaust blowing in your face and no loud noise of a stinking two-cycle engine, and it's much lighter, it was easy to go from hole site to hole site. However, I think due to the heavy earth we have here, ten holes was about max. But I buried the bit to the hilt into each one. That's a 30-inch-deep hole. Took just minutes for each one, and in the lighter soil areas, even quicker. I really like this machine. It's worth the money, even though I think it's a bit high. But well worth it, and I don't have to mess around with the stinking gas operated earth drill anymore! Battery charges relatively fast, knocked off and had lunch and a break and in about an hour it was pretty much fully charged. On the downside, there's no automatic cut-off when the battery is fully charged so you really have to watch it and pull it off the charger soon after it's full. Other than that bit, it's a good machine and worth it. I'd get an extra battery of the larger size, or two. If you could rotate batteries, you could work with this all day. It's a pleasure to use.

I regret purchasing this auger. I did not get through one hole before the battery died. Now it will not recharge. I tried to purchase another battery and that will not charge, so I think it may be the charger. Customer service for the auger is nonexistent. I have emailed and tried to call. I waited on the phone and every time the line disconnects around the 10-11min mark. This company certainly does not stand behind their product. An Amazon rep. tried to help find a charger but was unsuccessful. I was able to find one on Amazon- very pricey! So far, I have spent over $150 to try and resolve this issue, so the money I thought I was saving when buying this unit is already out the window. Purchasing this auger was a waste of time and money. I wish I would have opted for the electric auger- no battery. UPDATE: After writing this review, the company reached out and offered a new battery and charger. It took a while to receive, but they did send it, so I am adding two more stars. Use: After really using it, I can say that it did make the job easier. The machine does stop when it hits the smallest (so small I reached down and yanked out) of roots. It’s battery operated, though. Safety note: I used this auger on several fence post holes. Toward the last holes, I would release the power button and it just kept going. It would spin a few times and stop. The first time it did this, I was not expecting it. I released the power button, went to walk away and it swung around into my leg. It did not do this in the beginning of the project, but did quite a few times toward the end. I simply stepped back and let it spin until it stopped.

I received the Auger with charger and battery last year . I wasn't able to use it then so this summer I opened the box and charged the battery , I used it the Augur worked but the battery lasted only 5 minutes and totally died I charged it and the same thing happened not sure if the charger is defective or the battery or both. It was frustrating to wait an hour to charge and work for five minutes because it didn't start charging till the battery gets cold. I contacted Amazon and they were not willing to replace the battery nor the charger nor exchange the unit all together. Amazon called seller three way conference call ,The seller also refused to help

I recently purchased the auger drill kit for my bf to make work easier while doing landscaping and putting up fencing and digging holes for planting at home. So far he's really enjoyed using the electric auger, it's made things so much simpler and less back breaking work. Also cutting down the digging time from hours to minutes. He's very impressed with the unit being so durable, lightweight, and keeping up with his work demands. It came packaged well and easy to assemble, I also love the fact the it doesn't use gasoline or oil, since we are both pro-green, not putting out any emissions is a great feature for this product. He says the auger connection is very tight and does not have any play whatsoever. If I had to say the PROS, no emissions, runs on rechargeable lithium batteries, we found out they do have more powerful batteries that are 4AH in capacity. The housing is super resilient and the unit is lightweight, the auger is 6" x 30" steel and heat treated so it wont rust. It has forward and reverse capabilities, LED light, easy to grip and easy on the hands because of the ergonomic grips and placement of the buttons on the auger. For cons, haven't had any yet, but will update if that changes. It's a great auger for the price and quality, cant go wrong with that combination! We are very happy customers and will recommended it to our gardening friends and family.
