I received this item through the Amazon Vine program in exchange for an honest review. I ordered this item because we have wanted to illuminate the front of our house, but didn't want to run wiring. These have a large solar collector and are entirely sealed against the elements. The light is pleasant and my wife like the look of it. The spot we chose faces west and also gets good light from the south. If you move the way the light faces, you also change the orientation of the solar collector. For us, and our situation, this worked, but it would have much nicer if the tilt for light direction was independent of the orientation of the solar panel. For example, if the light were shone on a north facing wall, the solar panel would also face north, even if it would be better to tilt the panel to collect light from the east or west. I am assuming that the large solar collector and battery helps to make up for less than optimal positioning, but one would have to consider their own location carefully. Also, while the sealed battery protects it from the elements, it also prevents one from changing it should the need arise. I'm not a fan of the owl design, but it isn't visible in use. ... show more

Overall good lights with three modes of operation. I cannot honestly tell if the lenses concentrate the light more than other similar solar lights I have. That said, overall construction is very good and ships with instructions and mounting hardware.

These solar spotlights are super bright and are good for close up or farther away from the object you are lighting up. We have one position by the front door which totally lights up the porch area and also one pointing towards the side of the house about 20 ft away from it and it lights up the entire side of the house. These solar lights are so bright!!!! I have been very impressed with the brightness. They were very easy to install. I just put in the stakes and was able to put in the landscaping. There is a button on the back to adjust how bright they are. We chose to keep them to the full brightness. On cloudy days, they aren’t as bright, but most days, they are awesome!! ... show more

These are a great option for adding lighting in low-lit areas around the house - especially around corners, trees, and heavy bushes. The lights themselves produce a bright and relatively wide lighting spread. As long as the top solar array receives adequate sunlight during the day, they should be pretty low maintenance for the life of the product. Installation is simple and grassy areas work best.
