I bought this for the 5D Mark III and it fits perfectly. I'd looked for an good L-bracket for a long time and purchased three that had to be returned because they covered either access to the battery grip/tray or to the left side plug-ins panel. This one is built for easy access to everything and is a one-piece curve that wraps the battery grip and camera very securely. I bought it new several months ago, to be used for interior and architectural assignments. +: - size, small weight, quality of manufacturing, good price -: - shape of its side is not perfect when installing Canon remote cable (too close distance) - not very convenient attachment to the camera (screw is relatively difficult to reach) ... show more

Fits the camera (with battery pack) perfectly and looks good. Heck, even without the battery pack this fits the camera and without a doubt is useful either way. I would say buy this even if you don't have the battery pack as if you decide in the future to purchase the battery pack, well you have the perfect L-Bracket. Solid construction, light and works perfectly. Well worth the purchase. UPDATE: some have mentioned it does “not” fit the camera without a battery pack. This is incorrect. It will fit, but can’t Vera some of the doors on the side of the camera and does sit high, but is solid, tight and secure. Fit's perfectly Price better than any of the competition and I appreciate the fact that it's 1 solid piece versus 2 pieces. I have used 2 other very popular brands and sent them back because they felt a little flimsy and was a lot of "flex" I think because it was 2 pieces. This is one solid piece and has held up well so far. Fits the Arca-Swiss compatible tripod head that I currently use perfectly. I actually leave this on the camera pretty much all the time. Quality build. I like that it came in one single piece. Fits the Canon 5D Mark IV with the BG- E20 grip perfectly. Fits on any Arca Swiss compatible tripod. Fits fine and is solid. It also fits (not as well) without the battery grip. My main problem is with the attachment hardware and slot. The slot is only wide enough for the included socket head cap screw. I take my L bracket on and off all the time so I need a folding D-ring for hand removal. However as I mentioned the slot it goes in is to narrow. My solution was to grind out the slot (not pretty but it works). The real solution should have been to design it with a wider slot as there is plenty of room in the casting for it. ... show more

Good sturdy design, for both planes tripod usage and camera body protections. Mainly best fits for 5D IV veritical grip. Over similar body 5D III or Ds/DsR veritical grips might have slight positioning issues, especially for cable releases slot.
