When first reviewing chairs/recliners for watching TV in my family room and reading reviews it soon became very clear that the old adage "you get what you pay for" is so true. Mine is only the second review for this item and reading those for other chairs it soon became clear people's inability to get passed their cheapness had a price to pay. Most of the remarks for a popular $400 chair were regarding how uncomfortable, the imitation leather was not supple and the reclining mechanism was extremely difficult to move. It's always interesting how the cheap buyer screams so loudly when he/she didn't get the best for nothing. I continued my search for hours and found this Sunset Trading chair which was only $1300. A bargain considering the sofas for my big screen 7.1 surround sound home theater were $6000 ten years ago. So, the chair arrived today and after the simple procedure of screwing in the legs it was time to sit and give it a try. Marvelous comfort, as good as my theater sofas. The leather in beautiful and soft. Reclining was smooth and easy which didn't require any tension adjustment. I have low back problems so proper support is a given. This chair provides excellent support, almost as if it was designed for this purpose. I'm somewhat tall, 6'2", and found the sitting height above the floor perfect. In the reclined position my leg support was ideal. This height of the chair is a bit taller than some others and I always can use some head support. For now a small pillow works fine but went ahead and ordered the Bowerbird Leather Headrest Cushion, $40, which I'm confident will do the job. All in all, great purchase. Let's keep this a secret for those of us who choose to live with quality, it "is a choice". ... show more

    • Very well made chair!
We were scared to buy a chair online without sitting &/or seeing it first but so glad we did. The color is a dark leather chocolate brown. The picture shows it with a little bit of reddish which we don't see in our chair. When you recline its very comfortable. One thing that may be a problem for some is that the seat height may be a little taller than other chairs (husband is 5' 11") but we feel once it gets broken in it should not be so stiff & high.
