I was looking for a small fountain for a therapy office. I was drawn to this one because it stated it was quiet. Not so much. The orb did not sit all that well on the base because I could not get the pump and motor to stay flat. Ultimately I was able to get it to sit flat, but it was annoying and the sound made it even more so. The noise was really the pump, not the nice sound of trickling water. Disappointed. ... show more

    • Very attractive little fountain !
I like to use water fountains to add some humidity to the bedroom, and this is a very quiet and cute one for that purpose. I wish I could find a bigger one just like it, so it would have more surface with moving water, but it is exactly as described in the description. My apartment is very dry, and it uses a lot of distilled water every day, so it is helping. I added more decorative rocks, so it displaces some of the space for water. I have put one small rock on the top hole, to diffuse the water over the globe better, and to make it even more quiet, not enough to disrupt the flow, and not essential. Easy to recommend this attractive, simple design fountain. It is very easy to clean, unlike some with many rough surfaces to scrub. ... show more

    • Relaxing fountain... except for the pump noise.
We got the fountain to have ambient water sound in the house. However, the pump is fairly loud. I think that might be because the hose from the pump to the fountain outlet is a bit short, so the pump is not fully immersed in the water, which perhaps would dampen its sound. We will try to extend the hose. The other thing that bothers me about the pump is that it is 110V AC rather than DC. So, one has a fountain with a submerged pump plugged into the wall. One my always be careful to unplug the fountain whenever touching it, especially if it has stopped working. ... show more

The motor is louder than the water, which barely comes out as a little trickle down one side. The big ball of the fountain sits crooked so all the water goes down one side. This is ineffective for its purpose as all you hear is the motor sound and no soothing water fountain.

Love this fountain. Have been looking for this design for a while. It's beautifully made and designed. (Not made from from resin.) Love the glazes used on the fountain. The motor is quiet although last week it became loud. Cleaned it and stones and now it's back to normal. I changed the setting on pump to medium after cleaning and it is even more soothing and tranquil (personal preference) ... show more

This is so nice. The pump is quiet. I noticed the feng shui changed right away. I put it in the North direction to charge career energy and within days I was offered another shift at work.

    • Love it_ how to fix loud noise
I read the review before I bought. Some people said it is too loud and I figured it out. When you don't have enough water, it gets loud. As I fill up with more water, it got quite and love it. Very simple look but it is beautiful!

It goes through water very quickly, but that's a good thing since it is meant to humidify our plants. Quick and easy to assemble. Very Quiet. I wish I could hide the wire better, but it's a good value for the price.
