Very sturdy. Handle can be considered by some to be thin (1"). Can always adjust it with a "fat gripz" style product addon. Be aware before buying. Knurling is great. The clips that come with them are meh. You should buy better ones with them. All in all, with a set of 2x handles + 4 clips, 12x 10 lb, 4x 5 lb, and 4x 2.5 lb plates, I got a set of adjustable dumbbells from 10 - 85 lbs for 315 dollars (less when you consider I already had most of the plates), which is significantly cheaper than even powerblocks. ... show more

I'm a pro arm wrestler, I bought this because of the tighten nuts. That way I could do hammer curls and the weights were not fall off, works great! However the best part of these is the bearing system for doing wrist curls, eliminates the jerk back you get from a standard weight..... perfect! My take: I only purchased one of these. I figure most of my exercises don't really require one in each hand, and I can just switch hands after each set. The 2" Olympic rods spin nicely and the black rubber is nice to have when putting the weight down on hard surfaces (you should probably still have a workout mat or something). That being said, you can always give these used online and I've seen plenty that are less-nice sets of two for around $40-$50. So why did I get this instead? My logic is that it seems pretty well made and I'm hoping it'll last a long time with minimal rusting. Is one of these worth more than two iron ones for similar price in the long run? I guess time will tell. But honestly, when it comes to workout equipement, I think ots always better to buy used. ... show more

The bearings on these and the knurling are very good quality for the money. Buying on amazon beats out Titan's service by a long shot. The 25mm shaft and knurling is perfect for me doing curls, flys, dumbbell press and shoulder press on these. I didn't care for the included screw down clamps, but they're better than any spring clamps. Since i change plates often, I bought a set of Rogue's Mighty collar for these. I'm very happy with Sunny Sports quality that i also just bought their curl bar. ... show more

You want great dumbbells but all the others on the market are too spendy?? Get this. This is perfect because it lets me use my barbell weights for the dumbbells. Awesome product. Couldn't ask for anything better at that price. People complain about the metal collars but mine seem to work just fine. Of course it could also be because I don't go super heavy. I've only put 85lb so far and they hold pretty good. Just remember to tighten. Sunny brand dumbbells are decent for the price. I would give them 5 stars if the sleeves were grooved and not smooth. They have spring clips holding the retainers on, which is 100x better than screw type dumbbells. The only gripes I have is the length of these dumbbells and there are no grooves on the sleeves. So you have to use a screw-down retainer to hold any weight on the bars, not a lock-down type retainer clamp. Anything past 55lbs on each side is tough to hold even with the screw-down type retainers and don't drop them hard. If you use these properly, they will last a long time, but don't expect them to hold 100lbs on each side. The length of the dumbbells makes loading lots of weight nice, but not for any type of shoulder pressing or chest presses. These are better suited for rows, curls, extensions, and maybe a few more exercises. The shorter versions are better for closer actions. ... show more
