  • My Go-To Matte PLA – Consistent and Reliable
Color: 1000g Pla Black Size: 1KG
This has easily become my all-time favorite filament to use for 3D printing. The matte finish it gives to prints looks fantastic clean, smooth, and professional right off the build plate. It really elevates the overall appearance compared to standard glossy PLA. What impresses me most is the consistency. Roll after roll, it performs the same. I don’t have to constantly tweak settings or troubleshoot random issues. It feeds smoothly and produces reliable results. I also don’t keep my filament stored in dryers or sealed containers. Most of my rolls are left out in the open, and even with that, I’ve had zero issues with print quality using this filament. That says a lot about how stable and forgiving it is. I can’t recommend this filament enough. If you’re looking for a dependable matte PLA that delivers consistent results, this is a solid choice. ... show more

  • Certainly worth a try
Color: 1000g Pla Black Size: 1KG
This is my first time using Sunlu filament of any kind. I've only used Bambu Lab filament since I got my printer (P2S). I have to say, I was VERY impressed with Sunlu in many ways. First, having their filament available on Amazon is a huge win. Shipping was significantly faster than the 1 week+ it takes to get a shipment from Bambu Lab. I like the design of their filament spools much better. I don't have any evidence, but having the sides open seems like it would help with drying since there is more exposed surface area to the filament. The spool also has a lot more points to secure your lose filament when storing and drying. From a visual standpoint you can easily see how much filament is left on the spool very easily. The filament was tightly and neatly wrapped as well. The filament itself was outstanding. I got a flawless print right out of the box, no drying needed. The color and finish were exactly as expected. I used the print profile settings for Bambu Lab matte PLA instead of the built-in Sunlu settings. Since I liked the results I never even tried the Sunlu settings. As of this review I've only tried the matte black and blue PLA and had the same experience with both. Although Sunlu doesn't have the same color selection as Bambu Lab the quality seems to be on point. Regular prices are about the same as Bambu Lab, but when they go on sale you can typically get a 1kg spool for about $11 (includes spool). Until I run into an issue, I'm sticking with the matte PLA from Sunlu going forward. ... show more

  • My go-to filament brand
Color: 4kg Pla Black+black+black+black Size: 4KG
Sunlu filaments have been a reliable and solid choice for my prints. Whenever I need a new roll, I always search Sunlu [color] first. The matte finish is easily one of my favorites too. Spools come wound neatly with no tangling, and they print smoothly without drying them first. I've had other brands that worked for a while and then started causing clogs, but not Sunlu. The spools work prefectly in my Bambu AMS, and I love the ability to reuse them for other projects or just for a filament refill. ... show more

  • Great performance and color quality
Color: 1kg Pla Matte Dual Yellow Cyan Size: 1KG
I really like the filament quality. I used the material for deck boxes for Magic the Gathering. The ease of use that this filament offers is great. It has great bed adhesion every time I use it, and it has great flow. The performance I get from this is why I keep using Sunlu. Color quality is another reason that I pretty much use them as well. ... show more

  • Prints great. New spools look nice, NOT AMS friendly
Color: 1000g Pla White Size: 1KG
I've never had any issue with Sunlu filament and generally have always had a good experience printing with them. Print wise- nothing has change. Ease of use, however is a different story. The new blue spools look very nice and appear of better quality- thicker plastic and more enclosed to help with clean windings. The issue is they appear to be shorter width and diameter by a small margin- but its enough that it now causes issues with the AMS system for the BambuLab P1S, X1C model printers. The smaller spools are now not as large and do not sit as nice a gap on the AMS rollers; this results in rubbing against the bottom of each filament slot in the AMS unit. Which leads to the AMS overworking the motors as there's more friction and drag on the system. This caused issues multiple times while feeding and unloading. I ended up respooling to an empty BBL spool - no issues after. It also happened again with some Sunlu Glow in the Dark PLA on again- new spool - same issue. Respooled on a printed empty spool. No issues after. A benefit of Sunlu filament over say Esun or similar other vendors was that stock PLA profiles worked very well and Spools were AMS friendly out of box. Others had cardboard spools or spool sizes that caused issues. The price was also nice. But if you print alot or have a print farm- respooling can start to add up lots of time. I'd be ok paying more for an AMS ready spool. Again- the filament prints fine, but the product ease of use overall is less user friendly now. ... show more

  • The spool broke
Color: Large Spool Pla Matte Black Size: 3KG
The spool broke and a large portion of the filament tangled but otherwise it’s pretty good!

  • S Tier filament, F Tier spooling
Color: 1000g Pla Black Size: 1KG
Overall I really like to performance of the filament. I print minis for DnD most often, and I find that I get really sturdy prints with great definition on those tiny details without excess artifacting or stringing. I live in Seattle, so most of my filament need some extra love from the dehydrator, but I’ve never once dehydrated this spool, and left it in my garage for over a year, fully exposed to the air and it prints as if it was new outta the package. The reason for a three star review is that the spooling of the filament is bad. I usually don’t run in to this issue, as a mini with 100% infill usually only uses 6g of filament. But when I’m doing a 10hour print with 68g of filament, it’s a 50/50 toss up that my spool will seize, snap the filament inside the bower tube, and clog the nozzle. This has happened three times now. The only solution I have is to unspool 50-100 ft of filament before a big print, removing any tangles in the spool along the way, then respool it myself to ensure my print doesn’t fail. ... show more
