I’ve used several different colors of Sunlu’s transparent filament, and it has never disappointed me. This particular color is gorgeous — vibrant, clean, and perfect for the project I bought it for. I’m currently making transparent characters from The Very Hungry Caterpillar so my wife can use them with her preschool students. The idea is that the kids can act out the story on their light table as she reads, and I think they’re going to absolutely love it. As expected from Sunlu, the filament prints beautifully. It’s easy to work with, consistently feeds well, and the spool is tightly wound with no tangles. I’m running it on my Bambu printer, and it performs great. I am equally satisfied with both the print quality and the strength of the material. The finished prints are clean and neat, with virtually no stringing or overspill, and the surface finish is uniform. Throughout the entire process, there were no issues such as nozzle clogs, filament breaks, or inconsistent extrusion. The material exhibits excellent bed adhesion and interlayer bonding, resulting in parts with good toughness—they are not brittle and are resistant to breaking. Given this level of quality, the price is very competitive. After comparing it in actual use, I believe it is on par with the original filament I’ve used before—equally excellent. The filament also has a beautiful, subtle matte finish, resulting in a high-quality, premium-looking final product. The overall user experience is excellent.

I’ve been running this Sunlu PLA through a few projects lately, and overall, it’s a solid filament with a beautiful finish. If you’re looking for a red that actually "pops" without looking like a dull crayon, this is a great choice. Color and Finish The Red is spot on. It has a deep, rich pigment that holds up well across layers. I used it for some detailed miniatures and a few functional shop organizers, and the surface finish is consistently smooth with a nice, subtle sheen. Printability & Adhesion I didn't have any issues with bed adhesion. It lays down a very clean first layer at 210° (my personal sweet spot for this brand) and I haven't seen any warping or lifting on larger flat prints. The spooling was neat, and I didn't encounter any tangles or crossovers during long 12+ hour prints. Why 4 Stars? (The Stringing) The only reason I’m knocking off a star is that this specific batch was slightly "stringy" compared to other PLAs I’ve used. Even after drying the filament (which helped a bit), I had to spend more time than usual dialling in my retraction settings to minimize the wisps between travel moves. It’s nothing a quick pass with a heat gun won't fix, but it's something to be aware of if you're printing complex geometries with a lot of jumps. Final Verdict A very reliable filament with a top-tier color. It’s a great workhorse PLA, provided you’re willing to spend a few minutes fine-tuning your slicer profile to handle the minor stringing.

I’ve been running this SUNLU Black PLA through my Bambu Lab P1S in my basement workshop, and it has been incredibly consistent. For the price, it’s a reliable "set it and forget it" filament that handles both technical parts and creative models with ease. The AMS Advantage: One of the best things about this specific filament is that it comes on a plastic spool. If you use a Bambu AMS, you know that cardboard spools can be hit-or-miss—they create dust and sometimes slip. These plastic spools spin perfectly without needing any printed rim adapters or extra modifications. Performance & Print Quality: Consistent Winding: The "neatly wound" claim is accurate. I haven’t had a single tangle or snag, which is critical for long, unattended prints. Dimensional Accuracy: My articulated models and fidget sliders come out moving freely right off the plate. The +/- 0.02 mm tolerance ensures that moving parts don’t fuse together. Low Odor: Since my printer is in a basement with restricted ventilation, I really appreciate that this has almost zero smell during the printing process. Bed Adhesion: It sticks perfectly to the PEI plate without needing any glue or special settings. Final Verdict: If you want a budget-friendly filament that is 100% compatible with the Bambu ecosystem and provides smooth, repeatable results, this is a great choice. It’s a solid workhorse for anyone who wants high quality without the premium price tag.

Produces a beautiful product but the wood filament has snapped off in my extruder twice now, so I’ve had to disassemble it down to the gear and remove the snapped off filament with pliers. Doesn’t happen during every print, but has happened twice out of the last 5 prints. Moderate risk, high reward
