  • The E2 is Extremely Effective.
Color: Filament dryer Black
The media could not be loaded. Performance:***** Aesthetics:***** Ease of Use:**** Value:**** Overall:4.5 If you are reading this review you are probably wondering if Sunlu corrected the flaws that were uncovered during the initial previews of the E2 with the prerelease units that were provided to youtube 3dPrint-Fluencers such as Aurora, Dr.I gor (MyTechFun), and Modbot. So to address the primary concerns, the lid remains closed and does not deform during use even when set to 110C. Yes it dries filament, and it can anneal nearly everything that you would print in an advanced ProSumer 3D-Printer with a chamber heater. It may overshoot the temperature by about 4 to 5 degrees C, however my measurements this could be incorrect as I used a bbq temperature probe instead of a laboratory grade thermometer. Yes, it really can reach 110C , so it will melt most spools. It can easily cause the glue to fail in cardboard spools ( Polymaker and Siraya Tech) Make sure not to exceed the max temperature of the spool of your filament. Currently this is the only dedicated Filament dryer that can effectively dry Nylon in a reasonable amount of time. You can dry nylon in four to eight hours, versus taking three days to dry in a PolyMaker Polydryer or 12 hours in a high temperature food dehydrator. However the price will give most interested users pause. At its full retail price it's smack in between high-temperature dedicated filament dryers such as the Creality Space Pi 4x and a dedicated Lab oven. Which ultimately means that it's priced correctly and we are fortunate that Sunlu was able hit this price point. I don't think this unit will sell as much as their previous offerings like the S4 so development and tooling costs are spread over a significantly smaller number of units. My only real complaint is with the noise of blower fan that they placed to cool the electronics on the bottom. They should have placed a larger blower fan that could hit their airflow/pressure requirements as there is sufficient space to install as 7530 blower, doing so will only require to enlarge the air inlet hole on the bottom of the E2. I have included a brief video to demonstrate. Ultimately, if you need an attractive dedicated filament dryer to dry nylon in hours and not days this is the only game in town and is worth considering. Bonus: You can anneal PLA,ABS,ASA,Nylon, PPA and PET-CF/GF. Annealing PPS-CF/GF and PC are really outside the scope of this dryer. Some PC-Blends might be annealable at 110C but most will not. You can trust the manufacturer's Data but Verify!!! ... show more

  • Not cheap, worth the price
Color: Filament dryer Black
This thing costs more than the printer it's feeding filament into. It works, it works well, you should buy it if you're printing nylon. It can get up to temperatures most other dryers can't, and it can anneal your parts. If you're looking for the right thing to print nylons and other water absorbent filaments, this is the one, look no further. It fits 2 1kg spools easily and you can run the dryer for up to 100 hours at a time before having to restart it. I throw my CF and GF nylon in this thing and just let it hang out while it's printing, running it nonstop 24/7 keeping the filament dry. Not sure what else to say but this thing is great and I can only recommend that if you think you need one but are concerned about the price, it is worth the price, it works well! ... show more

  • Great Dryer - Updated Design Jan-2026
Color: Filament dryer Black
UPDATED 1-15-2026: After just a few hours of usage, the unit began making a low-pitched "grinding / vibration" noise that got louder and louder. I'm guessing a bad fan, but didn't want to disassemble to determine. Returned for a replacement, and the replacement is (so far) working great -- very quiet, just the expected "fan whirr" and none of the grinding noise the other developed. Will update further if the replacement fails, but assuming for now the original just had a bad heater fan! --- Original review --- Sunlu is apparently now shipping a revised/updated version of the E2! The version I received (Jan-2026) does not match the photos currently shown in the listing here, on Sunlu's website, or in various influencer reviews. It differs in two visible ways: (1) The lid is no longer held closed by magnets. The magnets are gone from the lid and the top rim of the dryer, and the lid is now reinforced and weighted with thick, metal plates to keep it closed; and (2) The four "feet" are now molded directly into the bottom shell, rather than the two chrome bars previously used. I initially wondered whether the unit was authentic, but later found a recent photo posted by Sunlu on their Instagram page which confirms the E2 design changes (new style feet visible in photo). It is possible there are internal changes as well, but the new lid and feet design are all I can confirm. The dryer works as expected. It reaches lower temperatures (i.e., for PLA, PETG, ABS) very quickly (much faster than the S4). It can also reach and maintain the max 110C, as advertised. The temperature directly above the hot air exit is higher, but that is irrelevant because that air is blown upward (not towards the filament spool) and mixes with other air before affecting the filament spool. Overall, once the unit has reached operating temperature, the temperatures are pretty consistent at the top, bottom, and left side -- with just the hot air exit being higher, as expected. The new non-magnet lid design is stiffer and heavier than the original design. The original design suffered from warping at the corners when used at high temperatures, as noted in several of the early reviews. This new design stays perfectly flat and fully sealed. The silicone seal around the lid appears to be the same as the earlier model, and seals really well. The new "feet" are molded directly into the bottom shell, with very small rubber pads added. There is some vibration from the fans and heater unit, so thicker pads may be desirable if the unit is placed on a thin or resonant surface. Eliminating the chrome bars makes the unit slightly shorter. The new feet are spaced further apart from front/back, making the unit a bit more stable as well. Pictures of the new lid and feet design accompany this review. The total noise level is slightly less than the S4 by around 5-7dB, but the pitch is different. Specifically, and the reason for dropping one star from my rating, there is a high-frequency component that is really annoying. I initially thought it indicated a bad fan or heater bearing, but I was able to hear the same sound on multiple review videos so it seems to be "typical" for the E2. Fortunately, this sound is 99% contained by the enclosure, so it is really only noticeable when the lid is opened to load/unload filament. Overall, the unit operates as advertised, and the lid/feet changes are welcome improvements over the original design. The price is hard to swallow, but if you need 90C+ temperatures then the E2 seems like a solid choice. ... show more

  • High temp filament dryer and anneal oven for high end filaments
Color: Filament dryer Black
The Sunlu E2 should really be labelled the Sunlu E2 Anneal Oven and Filament Dryer. Yes, it is the priciest dryer. The value in this dryer over its competitors is it's 110C max temp for annealing, and drying of engineering filaments. In this aspect, its in a league of its own. If you aren't going to be annealing or using engineering filaments, I would go with the Sunlu SP2, or if you're a Bambu person, the AMS Pro 2 or AMS HT. The auto-dry M3 mode where it turns on the dryer if the internal humidity hits 30% is nice. The Sunlu E2 is well made and it's OSD is relatively easy to use and straight forward. The plastic is very sturdy and very thick. There are some things I would prefer be improved: 1. I do wish it could do auto spool rotation, or the ability to keep the chamber more air tight, both of which the Bambu AMS Pro 2 and AMS HT can do. 2. It would be nice if there was an auto valve for allowing for the release of humid air. ... show more
