Does installing the SUNLU AMS Heater affect the AMS compatibility or performance? No, the installation process is non-destructive and requires no internal modification. It simply replaces the original lid, keeping your AMS safe and intact. Can it be used with AMS Lite or other AMS versions? SUNLU AMS Heater is designed exclusively for the Bambu Lab AMS Gen 1 and is not compatible with AMS Lite or other brands’ automatic material systems. Will the AMS Heater affect the AMS feeding motor or cause overheating? No. The unique dual-airflow design keeps heat concentrated in the filament area, ensuring safe operation without impacting the AMS motor. Does the AMS heater need an additional power source? Yes. The SUNLU AMS Heater is powered by its own power adapter (included in the package) and does not draw power from the AMS unit itself. Bought for my ams. Wow! Super easy install. It looks great on the printer and it works amazingly well. I can dry 4 rolls and print at the same time. I wish the vent was automatic and would open/close on its own but I’m sure that would add to the already amazing price. Some people complained about noise, maybe if it’s in your bedroom. Awesome filament dryer for the AMS. Install was not too bad. With the dryer on, the Bambu software will say the filament is getting moisture, but the dryer is working and doing it's job. I have not had any issues so far printing with the dryer running and saying the humidity is low. I do believe it will extend the life of my filament and desiccant as well. As I add additional AMS units, I will add SUNLU dryers as well. ... show more

Fantastic piece of equipment for your high-end engineering grade filaments. Keeps all of your filaments nice and dry, installation was pretty easy. Definitely helped my print quality with moisture absorbing filaments

    • I am impressed wit this AMS Heater, and glad Sunlu made this, and glad I bought it!
For me, I find the sunlu AMS version 1 dryer to be a great design, it was very easy to install, and functions well. I've been using desiccant in my AMS which lasts a few months, honestly the refresh of desiccant is more work tha installing this dryer lid. The first one I did took about 10-15 minutes becuase I was being causious. Once I realized how simple it was, the second one was 10 minutes or less. These do what they say, keep the AMS chamber and the filament in it dry. I am in the Pacific Northwest and I find that without treatment to keep my filaments dry, my print quality suffers across the board; some more than others but in general it just isn't worth it for me to print without keeping my filament dry; your mileage may vary on that.     • Better combo than the AMS2 alone with more functionality.
I bought this to go with my new Bambu Lab P1S Combo which comes with the original AMS unit. The AMS2 wasn't shipping yet and I'm glad I ended up buying the original with this add-on. It dries while you print or have filament loaded while the AMS2 wants the spools unloaded so it can roll them. This MAY dry more evenly, but my AMS is always fully loaded and ready to print. The valve to open/close the chamber before/after a drying session is manual. I really wish it was automatic as I always forget to close it when the time comes. The built in humidity sensor only goes down to 20% RH. I have some cheap aftermarket hydrometers in the AMS that read down to 10% and are pretty much permanently stuck at 10%. The AMS has a hydrometer you can check from Bambu Studio that gives a letter grade from A-F. Before I purchased this I was at a B or C depending on the day. Now I'm a solid A everyday. You may debate if this addition is worth even using. Most people say PLA isn't very sensitive to moisture and PETG is only moderately so. I decided to maximize my chances. It makes me feel secure when I start those long prints that they'll turn out as intended ... show more

I've seen some negative reviews and questions. This is an active heated filament drier for the AMS. If you have moisture in your filament or dessicant in the AMS that has been laying around, the humidity sensors are going to INCREASE at first. That's a good thing, the heat is letting the filament and dessicant give off the moisture. The moisture is lowering in your filament even when the air readings go high. Leave the top slots open while heating and if you have a really abused roll of filament consider using a separate drier first. This is an awesome an affordable item. Whish they made it for more printers. The only way to solve the new or maybe "wet roll" from throwing off the measurements is to buy the one that is over double the price. It has individual slots for each of the AMS slots. Not worth it to me at 2.5x the price and you now have 4 screens you can control independently, 4 heating elements, etc... sounds cool and is from an engineering standpoint, but also 4x the stuff to break. For the price point and ease of use, couldn't be happier. ... show more
