Does installing the SUNLU AMS Heater affect the AMS compatibility or performance? No, the installation process is non-destructive and requires no internal modification. It simply replaces the original lid, keeping your AMS safe and intact. Can it be used with AMS Lite or other AMS versions? SUNLU AMS Heater is designed exclusively for the Bambu Lab AMS Gen 1 and is not compatible with AMS Lite or other brands’ automatic material systems. Will the AMS Heater affect the AMS feeding motor or cause overheating? No. The unique dual-airflow design keeps heat concentrated in the filament area, ensuring safe operation without impacting the AMS motor. Does the AMS heater need an additional power source? Yes. The SUNLU AMS Heater is powered by its own power adapter (included in the package) and does not draw power from the AMS unit itself. I was very hesitant to purchase this SUNSLU AMS Heater for my Bambu Lab Gen1 AMS; but when I got a notification of a big discount on it, I went ahead and got it. A REAL GOOD INVESTMENT !!! Very convenient to just turn-on and let it cycle for the time/filament you set. I normally keep the SAME TYPE of filaments on the AMS, as I use PETG like 90% of the time, so it's EASY and CONVENIENT to cycle-on a couple of times x week to keep filaments at optimum levels, ready-to-print. ... show more

Does exactly what it's supposed to do. Dries filament while printing with the Bambu AMS1. Read instructions for drying your particular filament type so you don't over bake it!

I am not the most technical so at first taking apart the Bambu AMS was a bit stressful at first. Found a video to help walk me through it. The SUNLU AMS Heater went on easier than the original lid came off. We bought this to help keep more 'blobs of death' from happening. We have run this about once a week. Will likely have to ramp that up as we go into summer and humidity season. We have had no major issues with wet filament clogging up or printing properly now that we have started using this heater. The device itself works fine. We have forgotten at times to move the slide at the top to the correct position especially if we ran the heater over night and didn't make it back into the printer room until the next afternoon. We have noticed a hiccup with the Bambu printer AMS reading the filament from time to time now, but we do not run the heater while we are printing. We tried once and it was problematic so we opted to run the heater at night or when we've swapped out open filament that might have humidity issues saving the print for after the heater has run. ... show more

I’ve been using the Sunlu AMS Dryer with my first generation AMS, and overall it’s been a solid upgrade. It keeps my filament consistently dry, and I really like that each filament profile comes with its own preset temperature and drying time. Performance-wise, it does the job. I especially love that it can dry and print at the same time. Being able to run prints while keeping the filament dry helps with print quality and now most of my prints come out great! One thing I did notice, though, is that the lowest RH% it shows is 22%. The hygrometer inside my AMS usually reads around 10%, so the AMS Dryer seems a bit off on the humidity accuracy. Not a dealbreaker, but worth mentioning if you rely heavily on RH readings. Aside from that, it’s been great so far. If you’re running an AMS 1, this is pretty much the perfect upgrade to keep your filament dry and your prints clean! ... show more

    • Great Upgrade for the Bambu Lab AMS
I bought this heater so I could dry filament while printing, and it's been a worthwhile upgrade for my Bambu Lab AMS Gen 1. Installation wasn't too difficult, and once installed it integrates nicely with the AMS. One feature I really like is that it can be set to dry filament for up to 99 hours, making it easy to keep moisture-sensitive filaments dry during long prints or extended storage. An unexpected bonus is that it creates a flat top surface on the AMS. The original rounded lid doesn't make a very practical place to set things, but this gives me a stable surface for temporarily placing tools, filament, or other printing accessories while I'm working. Overall, it's a practical upgrade that adds the convenience of simultaneous printing and drying while also making the top of the AMS more useful. If you print with moisture-sensitive filaments, this is an excellent addition to your setup. ... show more
