I originally bought a similar AMS filament heater from a different seller, and I’m pretty sure it was defective because it kept causing problems with my AMS. I decided to give this Sunlu version a try, and I’m really glad I did. This one has been working flawlessly. It fits perfectly on top of the Bambu Lab AMS to replace the hinged lid, and it does a fantastic job keeping my filament dry. Since installing it, my prints have been more consistent, and I haven’t had any of the issues I experienced with the other heater. The only suggestion I have is to find a way to make the screws easier to get in without turning the AMS upside down. Overall, I’m very satisfied. Solid build, great performance, and absolutely worth it if you want to keep moisture-sensitive filaments in great shape. Highly recommend!

Easy to install and works great! The heaters fit perfectly on both of my AMS units and came well-packaged with extra screws and hinges. The included manual was clear and easy to follow, and the built-in display makes it simple to monitor temperature (°C) and humidity levels. Filament stays dry and prints have been more consistent since installing these. Great value for the money and an awesome alternative to upgrading to the AMS 2. I love seeing products like this that extend the life of existing hardware instead of sending it to e-waste. Highly recommended!

For me, I find the sunlu AMS version 1 dryer to be a great design, it was very easy to install, and functions well. I've been using desiccant in my AMS which lasts a few months, honestly the refresh of desiccant is more work tha installing this dryer lid. The first one I did took about 10-15 minutes becuase I was being causious. Once I realized how simple it was, the second one was 10 minutes or less. These do what they say, keep the AMS chamber and the filament in it dry. I am in the Pacific Northwest and I find that without treatment to keep my filaments dry, my print quality suffers across the board; some more than others but in general it just isn't worth it for me to print without keeping my filament dry; your mileage may vary on that. No pictures sincd mine looks exactly like every other one and the stock image.

fantastic product. honestly its beeter than the factory heater on the AMS2. ueasy install, works exactly as it should. this makes working in humid areas or with sensitive filament MUCH easier.

Works as advertised. Very convenient way to dry and maintain filament. Only negatives to me are that it could use a handle to facilitate opening, a latch to prevent unintentional opening, and a guard to prevent unintentional button presses. Oh, and an automated vent.

This thing completely changed my 3D printing life. I was under the impression that most spools came dry and the AMS with extra desiccant would keep it dry. Boy was I wrong. Tons of failed prints, bed adhesion issues with PETG, lots of prints with small looking holes where it encountered moisture and boiled, overall print quality issues. I finally decided I needed a dryer and I didn't want to take up a ton of space and this thing was perfect. Increased my print quality immensely. Pros: - Space Saving - Relatively Quiet - Easy to Install - Great price for efficiency - Can dry when printing - Dried out desiccant beads in the AMS for me - Fixed 90% of my print quality issues like stringing, popping, layers, adhesion, etc. - Dried with Elegoo cardboard PETG filament rolls with no issues. - Great value for money Cons: - No way to lock down on AMS unit like original lid - Small visibility to see into AMS to view how much filament is left. - Top vent should be locking and I wish it would seal better - Might struggle drying high temp drying filaments compared to a standalone dryer. I think the only thing that would really improve this is if it connected wirelessly to remotely start drying and it had some type of auto vent. Also a latch to lock down onto the AMS to really seal it up would be preferred.

This AMS heater is awesome. I thought about making a heater/dryer, but honestly, once I found this one and saw how well it integrates onto the AMS, I was sold. This saved me a ton of headaches, and I am currently printing a fair amount of Polymaker Polylite ASA without issues. Love this thing. I do have a wine cooler that I will be converting over to a large long-term storage solution using a Pelter heat/dehumidify system, but this Sunlu took the pressure of getting my wine cooler storage done asap.
