Does installing the SUNLU AMS Heater affect the AMS compatibility or performance? No, the installation process is non-destructive and requires no internal modification. It simply replaces the original lid, keeping your AMS safe and intact. Can it be used with AMS Lite or other AMS versions? SUNLU AMS Heater is designed exclusively for the Bambu Lab AMS Gen 1 and is not compatible with AMS Lite or other brands’ automatic material systems. Will the AMS Heater affect the AMS feeding motor or cause overheating? No. The unique dual-airflow design keeps heat concentrated in the filament area, ensuring safe operation without impacting the AMS motor. Does the AMS heater need an additional power source? Yes. Must have for OG AMS!
15min install plus it even comes with extra screws and hinges. Open the vent, turn it on, walk away, and come back to perfectly dried filament. Also eliminates removing your AMS desicant for drying. A handle would have been nice but there's multiple printable option and come on....we'd be printing a new one even if it did have one lol. Has given me zero issues so far. (9/17/26) Definitely recommend for OG AMS.

Does what it was designed for. Perfect OEM Fit.
I was very hesitant to purchase this SUNSLU AMS Heater for my Bambu Lab Gen1 AMS; but when I got a notification of a big discount on it, I went ahead and got it. A REAL GOOD INVESTMENT !!! Very convenient to just turn-on and let it cycle for the time/filament you set. I normally keep the SAME TYPE of filaments on the AMS, as I use PETG like 90% of the time, so it's EASY and CONVENIENT to cycle-on a couple of times x week to keep filaments at optimum levels, ready-to-print.

Functional and Convenient
I use it for drying PETG and PLA silk before printing. Functions well, and reduces humidity in AMS for a while after. Installation and operation is simple

Helpful with Humidity
I am not the most technical so at first taking apart the Bambu AMS was a bit stressful at first. Found a video to help walk me through it. The SUNLU AMS Heater went on easier than the original lid came off. We bought this to help keep more 'blobs of death' from happening. We have run this about once a week. Will likely have to ramp that up as we go into summer and humidity season. We have had no major issues with wet filament clogging up or printing properly now that we have started using this heater. The device itself works fine. We have forgotten at times to move the slide at the top to the correct position especially if we ran the heater over night and didn't make it back into the printer room until the next afternoon. We have noticed a hiccup with the Bambu printer AMS reading the filament from time to time now, but we do not run the heater while we are printing. We tried once and it was problematic so we opted to run the heater at night or when we've swapped out open filament that might have humidity issues saving the print for after the heater has run.

Works great!
Works well on my Bambu P1S AMS super easy to install and use. After using it for around 3 weeks I have had no issues with any clogging or brittleness. So far its been a great investment for my 3D printer. I will be buying again when I purchase another P1S

Well, I bought a second one, so I guess I should review it.
After testing it for months in one AMS, I decided to pick up a second one since I'm very happy with the results. I don't burn through tons of filament like some, but I want the machine to print properly when I need it. If you don't enjoy fiddling with filament and just want your machine to be ready to print, this is an excellent little unit, but there are a few things you should know. 1: The AMS built-in humidity sensors really won't work well anymore. They don't seem to adapt to the changing heat inside the enclosure and will give false readings that wander all over depending on dryer temps. They weren't great to begin with, so don't lose any sleep, just set the Sunlu as low as the humidity goes and leave it on auto. Trust the readout on the Sunlu to tell you what the actual humidity is inside the enclosure. 2: It's still worth keeping some silica beads in your AMS. I'm using some of those printed holders that drop in front of the filament. The silica provides a "shock absorber" to keep the humidity from rising too fast, and keep your dryer from having to run all the time. When the dryer does kick in, it'll keep the silica dry - you won't ever have to change it out. 3: If you put a roll of very wet filament in with your dry filament, you should probably give it some time to stabilize. If you've got another dryer, it's better to dry externally and load dry filament - this will keep it that way.
