Very strong. It’s a metal bunk bed so it does squeak if you do t secure it to the wall. It is has a brushed metal finish to it but it is black metal as advertised. The instructions weren’t that bad but I have definitely read better ones before. It is as described and is what we expected for the price. Though we were pleasantly impressed with its sturdiness when 5 6th grade boy piled on the top bunk during a sleepover goofing off and it held like a champ (and I promptly made them get down lol) but we did anchor ours to the wall to cut down on the bed noise an ensure stability. 8/10 would recommend as long as you anchor it to a stud in the back wall.

This is a functioning bunk bed. That's all the good I can say about it. Now for the bad. Let's start with the incorrect parts. There were parts labeled D and E. Except there were no E's. I had four D's. These particular parts were cut the same way, thank God, but the holes were drilled differently. I had to go into the two extra D parts and drill my own holes just to make this work. Very inconvenient. Maybe I should've contacted the manufacturer to get replacement parts, but I didn't feel like waiting a week to get new ones. But that's not all. How about the screws that hold it all together, being all the wrong sizes, so much so that I had to run to the hardware store to purchase screws to hold this thing together. I just love spending extra money on things. Wait there's more. The 'instructions' for assembly, if you can call them that, were mislabeled repeatedly, to the point I threw out the book and just went with my best guess on assembly. I'm not done yet! The few screw holes that were actually pre-drilled did not fit the screws that it came with in several spots. I had to size up or size down several times. Good thing I bought bulk screws to make it work earlier. This whole thing should've taken maybe two hours to put together. Instead, it took two days, because I kept stopping due to my overwhelming frustration, due to the fact that almost nothing about it worked the way it was supposed to. Except for the fact that it was a bed. But it's put together now. And it looks nice. Points for you. This is probably the worst purchase I've ever made from Amazon, but I can't even blame them, because they didn't manufacture it. I'd recommend any other bunkbed you can find on here, don't take the chance of this happening to you.

Perfect addition to a room make over. Leaves lots of space for play or other room furniture. Easy to build. The trundle is perfect for sleepovers. Very sturdy and great quality for the price.

I bought this for my grandson as an early "7th" birthday present as his previous bed took up the majority of his room. Loved that this had a twin/full + trundle option. So far, he's loving it. Lots more "room for activities" in his room now. The only negatives thus far is: 1) it took my daughter and son-in-law a couple hours to put it together and one of the screws gave them a very hard time. They were frustrated to say the least (my gift to them *wink*wink*). 2) the stairs are tricky, and feel they could be designed a bit better, but they do the trick. FYI: the picture is after they first put it all together. The mattresses were also purchased through Amazon and I'm super impressed with them, so far.

The head space between the top bunk and bottom bed is very tight. Disappointing for an otherwise perfect addition for my grandsons room. Unable to sit up naturally on main bed.
