This is my first attempt at incubating, so I can't compare this device to others. I would say that you get what you pay for and it gets the job done. But it's not as easy as one might hope. You have to have the device set up exactly flat so that the exchange of water between the two parts flow properly. If not, you'll either get too much or not enough moisture inside the chamber. It's a messy, time consuming process and can start to smell bad because not all of the eggs may develop live chicks -- so definitely put this in a garage or outside space, although you'll have to check it often. I'm not sure I'll try this again, but it's interesting. If I had to purchase again, I'd buy a more expensive and larger device, but this is a great one to learn with. ... show more

Hatched a lot of chicks. Temperature is very accurate. I would recommend using a hydrometer with it. The water supply should be mounted an 1/8” higher than the incubator.

Well, I received incubator today and went thru the instructions and it seems to be missing the water bottle to hold extra water for automatic watering. When I got back on Amazon to look at website it shows a bottle in the picture that looks like a regular soda bottle. So I am not sure from the directions on the website page or instructions if I am supposed to supply the bottle.. I did look at the little square platform that the bottle sit's in and it has no threads to hold the bottle in but it does sit in the round area well. I tried a 20oz soda bottle and it seems to sit well. But we will see after further testing. ... show more

Two years ago, when we purchased a few poultry and ducks for Easter, I never imagined I would have such a large flock and be hatching my own eggs. Yes, we do ingest some of the eggs, but we cannot consume all of them, so we incubate and hatch the remaining eggs. We have hatched chickens, ducks, quails, turkins, and turkeys using incubators, but a single incubator is insufficient for such a large number of animals. This one can accommodate sixteen eggs, and the hatching rate is optimistic. My eggs have been in the incubator for approximately two weeks, and they typically hatch within thirty days. This can be set on a table, cabinet, or other flat surface and is powered by a standard AC electrical socket. The temperature and humidity are displayed on the enclosure's top-mounted, motorized display. The eggs are rotated automatically so I won't have to manually do it myself and that makes me joyful and saves me time and energy. As the covering is transparent, I can readily observe what is taking place within. This item appears to be well-made, user-friendly, and functional.
