Setup was complicated, but, I finally figured it out. Have it set for 120 volt split phase. Now, I can run all my heavy wood working tools. 120 volt or 240 volt. Batteries are slow to charge, but, that is expected with so many batteries attached to the inverter. Need to invest in higher wattage solar panels. Each inverter capable of 500 volts per charge controller at 100 amps each. Being that there are 2 MPPT in each inverter that means they are capable of quite the wattage.

The good news ,,,,the company took it back and gave me a replacement that worked perfectly. Sometime things just happen , but don't be afraid to purchase from this company. Initial operation revealed a charging current limited to 1A DC, significantly below the configured 25A maximum (Setting 28) and the system’s 100A total capacity (Setting 7). This technical evaluation details the diagnostic process, resolution, and performance assessment based on operational data, user manual (v3.0, 41 pages), and correspondence with SunGoldPower support, with the 25A setting reflecting my lab setup’s capacity after initial difficulties. #### System Configuration and Initial Performance The inverter was configured per the manual (pages 23–28) with key parameters recorded on September 18, 2025, : Setting 1 = Uti (utility-first mode), Setting 6 = SNU (solar + utility charging), Setting 4 = 49.2V (likely a 230V typo, adjusted to 120V for US grid), Setting 7 = 100A (max charge current), Setting 9 = 58.4V (absorption voltage), Setting 11 = 58.4V (float voltage, exceeding LiFePO4 norms), Setting 28 = 25A (max utility charge), Setting 33 = pyl (Pylontech BMS protocol), and Setting 68 = 0 (single-phase with neutral). (A Pass) #### Performance Assessment The SPH10048P demonstrates robust performance with a 48V 10kW capacity, supporting grid-tied and off-grid operation (manual page 5). The LCD provide real-time data (e.g., 0.8A/0.3A currents pre-adjustment), and the system handled lab loads effectively. The BMS dependency introduces a potential limit; the manual lacks clear communication troubleshooting guidance. Firmware updates via USB-B (page 34) are recommended but not detailed. Support was responsive with requests for media and suggestions. #### Conclusion Rated 4/5, the SPH10048P is a capable hybrid inverter for technical users navigating BMS challenges. I ordered the unit one day and got it the next. My old inverter started acting up and I needed something fast to power the house. I got it mounted on the wall the next day and connected batteries and solar power but the display had problems and I couldn't select the setup parameters. This morning I called SunGoldpower and talked with their after sales support. Within 2 hours they had me try a simple fix and the unit now works. I was able to setup the parameters and even powered some power hungry things in my shop. Tomorrow it gets wired into the entire house. Great customer service and support people. As far as I can tell this product saved me money over other brands and has had good reviews.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Simple... price... features... and reputation. I did a lot of digging, and the Sungold 8k Hybrid Inverter checked all the boxes... high power output... solid build quality... hybrid functionality... and the ability to work with solar, batteries, and the grid. A lot of other brands felt overpriced or overcomplicated. Plus, I saw enough real-world reviews and videos showing this thing in action to feel confident it wasn’t just spec-sheet fluff. And now that I’ve installed it... I can say it was the right call. Rock solid performance without needing to babysit it every day. I recently purchased and installed the Sungold 8k Hybrid Inverter... and to say I’m impressed would be an understatement. This thing is built like a tank and performs even better than I expected. Once it's set up and configured, it’s completely hands-off... just the way I like it. It quietly does its job and hasn't missed a beat. It even charges my EV6 without breaking a sweat... which honestly shocked me. I figured I’d be tripping breakers or babysitting amps, but nope... smooth sailing. Sungold, you sly overachiever. The only minor hiccup was the manual... let’s just say it reads more like a riddle in spots. Some settings only work properly when paired with another specific setting... and that connection isn’t clearly explained. But I emailed support, and they got back to me fast... helped straighten out a few things... and now the system is running exactly how I want it. Already planning to buy more from Sungold... solid gear... great support... and a setup that just works. Highly recommend.
