I picked these up looking for a lightweight pair of "daily driver" sunglasses—something better than the cheap rack pairs at the gas station, but not so expensive that I'd be heartbroken if I left them in a rental car or dropped them in the lake. Design & Visibility From a pilot and driver's perspective, the frameless design is excellent. It offers unobstructed peripheral visibility, which is a huge safety plus. The brown tint provides great contrast for outdoor use here in NC, cutting glare without making everything look too dark. The frames are incredibly light and comfortable. The carbon fiber texture adds a nice modern look, and the flexibility of the arms combined with the adjustable nose rests makes for a fatigue-free fit, even on long drives. In this cold weather, I hope the carbon fiber frames won't conduct as much cold as my metal Ray-Bans do. Build Quality & The Hinge Issue While the materials are decent, the assembly tolerances are a bit loose. The right hinge on my pair is solid and tight. The left hinge, however, has a concerning amount of "give" in the up-down axis. It wobbles in a way it shouldn't. While it hasn't failed yet, that kind of play usually leads to a screw backing out or a fatigue break eventually. The Kit The accessory package is surprisingly complete: a decent case, cleaning cloth, and a keychain screwdriver (which I might need sooner than later for that loose hinge). It even came with a polarization test card—a bit gimmicky, but a fun way to verify the lenses actually work. Final Thoughts Overall, these beat gas station sunglasses by a mile. They are comfortable, functional, and priced right for daily abuse. If the hinge tolerances were tighter, they'd be perfect. ... show more
